Charge on Declined Credit Card

I went trough this already several times.
Trying to buy something online, get declined, but
charge on my bank account shows up.

WTF? I don't understand this..
Can someone explain why this happends?

Thanks

bastards.

it may be an authorization? check back in 48 hours and see if the charge is still there

If the charge is appearing, tell the merchant. Your entitled to a refund or the product. If they ignore you, you're entitled to chargeback.

Yes it's propably authorization, but why there needs to be one
if the CC is declined...

It does not make any sense...

yah i hate that. at certain stores here in costa rica, when i try to use my credit card, it's declined, and i KNOW the money is there. and when i go home to check online banking, the auth is shown there. it gets cancelled within a few hours though

It's because your Bank approved the transaction but the merchant's
processor/gateway declined it.

This could be because your bank required a voice authorization, the
address didn't match or some other reason. Most merchants just decline
voice authorizations.

The charge/authorization should drop off after 3 business days but some
banks keep them there for 10 on debit cards.

they are probably holding the funds. Once the charge does not go thru in 3 days, the money is released into your bank account again.
It has happened to me before, it's upsetting but nothing to worry about.
