"Targeted E-mails" = Spam or not?
I keep seeing this terminology and was wondering what it means. ?Targeted e-mails? is spam basically, right?
well erm nope...:winkwink:
Depends on what info it contains..
If it's unsolicited then it's spam

You must first define Targeted E-mails before you can decide if you think it is spam.
I define Targeted Emails as "Target Marketing" if the sender is personalizing each email and it is being sent to someone that is in the industry and may have a particular need for the information contained in the email. If the emails are not personalized and they are being mass mailed then I would call these emails "Targeted Spam". There is difference! I have personally spent over 16 months collecting data on over 500 companies in the adult industry. This is my personal contact information and I use it to contact people in the industry to let them know that I have an adult product that they may be interested in using on their site or sites. I consider these Targeted Emails and not SPAM! Targeted = Marketing... That's how I define it. _ |
If you specifically personalize each mail then its not spam.
the definition is much broader than that. check the can-spam laws for more info.
any programs out there that do not mind "targeted e-mailing"?
It becomes spam when people complain about it. If nobody complains about it (and not because its untraceable), then its not spam. So if you can target an email really well to the point that nobody complains, then its not spam. Good luck doing that :)
