Exactly the type of muck-a-muck that gives our industry a bad name IMHO.

That being said, they certainly have a right to publish it.

martinsc 03-12-2007 11:22 PM

I'm a woman and I love preggos. I'm perfectly OK with the niche. But I find those taglines pretty offensive.

I always thought you were a guy. hmm

LadyMischief 03-14-2007 09:05 AM

The sales lines are sick and disgusting, the "abuse" thing is horrible, they have a right to publish it, but it certainly does our industry no favors.. only lines pocketbooks.

I totally agree, it's not like we are saints in this industry, but those taglines aren't necessary.

Call me old fashioned, but all those "abuse" type sites are just sick im my personal opinion.

No need to cover every niche, even if it's legal...I won't mention the words people outside the industry associate with sites like this, but they judge by what they see and not by what any documents say.

Well, 2257 and this .xxx discussion were probably not enough of any eye opener for some webmasters. Looks like the industry will have to learn the hard way sooner or later. Since we don't seem to be able to regulate ourselves, others will do.

I doubt those tag lines will appeal to anyone. They are pretty tasteless. You can come up with something better I am sure.

vvq 03-14-2007 11:51 PM

the site is preggo abuse. what should it be all sensual lovey-dovey tag lines?

I agree. I have nothing against the preggo niche at all. But taglines like that are just crude and begging religious/family groups to target the industry. Sure it might make a few extra sales, but it really is one of the reasons why the industry gets a bad rap.

Nodtveidt 03-30-2007 03:54 AM

Hrm...no opinion either way. No matter what you say, some will like it and some won't like it. They're amusing from a morals-free point of view, but they clash with the morals of "normal people". Be that as it may, many people don't understand that porn is mostly an illusion and many will take those taglines as gospel. My suggestion? Don't use them.

For me the sites title and the way you are trying to market this niche is scrapping the bottom of the barrel :Oh crap

Sarah_Jayne 03-30-2007 05:08 AM

I don't like the word 'abuse' in site names. Of course they have the right to do it and I bet it does sell. I also have no problem at all with 'normal' pregnant sites.

I just personally would rather distance myself from the wishes for a woman to lose her child..even if it is 'jokey'.

Though I guess the more people promoting stuff like that the more attention is on them and hopefully less on those of us that aren't..if only it was that easy, eh?
