Well, there are 2 main reasons to think this way:
1) Stereotypes.
2) Old feud USSR vs USA (USA vs Russia). Politically we are still the main enemies (we = our governments), but regarding the adult businesses... we are all in a same boat now - doesn't matter if you like it or not.
