Do people pay for research?
 

Just curious. Would you or have you ever paid someone to do specific market research for you? Or do you prefer to do it yourself?

Just do a search for 'research specialists' and you'll get your answer...

I have been paid and also paying...
Internet related friends of mine are usually internet and businesses's internet project developers.
Research is the heck of doing good organized jobs.
My purpose of registration in this board also was a research altough I am not going to hardcore adult maybe even wont be participated in adult industry even.

I charge my clients no less than $9/hr for research...

Yeah I know its really common. But I want to know how people in our business and this board do things. Do you outsource this type of work, give it to someone at the office or do it yourself?

Interesting. Sounds like a failry low rate, however.

That is what we do. We offer low rates.

Of course I should point out that most 'research' is $9/hr... things such as 'market research' are a bit different, require a bit more experience and attention to detail. Therefore the rates may be higher.

I've paid for keyword research in the past. But now, I'd always do it myself!

Research IMHO, since adult lacks research organizations such as Gallup, you can only hand over the research to someone in the marketing department. Hopefully, someone who really knows the Internet.

If you're talking about actually setting up some sort of agency that sells pre-made research, you might find yourself in a big problem. This industry, especially the online one is too small. People would just pass along your findings unless you can find some way to protect it (DRM or similar?).

A fair success might come from offering custom research for specific stuff provided by the client so that it is not an all-purpose thing. This will also be passed around, but at least it won't be good for just about anyone.

That being said, I think that research is one of the most exciting parts of the Internet and our industry.
