trojan / codec / exploit issues
I have been reading about this for a few days now. We run a small pay site and can back up our sales. Every sale we get I go to ccbill and get the IP address of the new member and do an IP search on statcounter and see where the sale came from. If the sale came from TGPxxx I keep track for the affiliate who wants to know. If I had a sale from the same TGPxxx and it went to someone else that does not own that traffic I would know they were cheating. It does not take up that much time and hell we only have 10 affiliates signed up and 9 are sending traffic. Maybe if we were getting 1000 joins a day it would be hard but for now this works for us. If you sign up for our site we will gladly do this for you as well. I know another very large program that I told this to and he will be doing it very soon.
Thanks |
and if this does not work let me know. The whole reason I do it is for the affiliates so I can let them know where they sent the joins from.

and what if the ip is 64.12.116.13

you say it converts very well, but have you tried a new tour? would a new tour maybe convert better? you simply dont know. wait i wont even try explaining any more. ill get a tonne of abuse thrown at me. You da best! |
LOL scotty this is not about my tour, I am trying to find out if what I do helps point out the cheaters and you have to come in here and act like your going to do me a favor. I could care less about you signing up and your response has nothing to do with my post. I have had one other tour and this one does a lot better, yeah the first was really really bad but it was a start, The 2nd tour is going to look at it a whole different way thanks to some good ideas I have been given.

you sound like a guy who cares about their affiliates. Can you hit me up on icq? I want to run an idea by you that may change how affiliates are tracked to avoid just these kind of problems.... |

sorry scotty. hey no problems, goodluck, but regards to your trojans/codecs, I doubt it will have much effect on the 10+ sales you pull per day. |

I check EVERY sale and make sure it comes from the affiliates site, Why can't more people do this, I know for a fact it has not messed with my site or has not worked yet, hell it is to small anyway. If you want details on this email me, I will be glad to do tracking on every sale and let you know where it came from, until this is fixed it is the best thing I can come up with.

Nooooooooooooooooooo Fuckingggggggggggggggggg Wayyyyyyyyyy! |
Okay, let's try to make this simple:
if you are running a membership small enough that you can combine CCBill stats and statscounter stats (why do you have a counter on your page, that's a traffic leak!) and match them up, then your issue isn't codecs and toolbars, but a lack of sales. |
