DOMAIN REGISTRARS - like Enom, GoDaddy, NetworkSolutions, Tucows OPPOSE the .xxx TLD
Well.. OK, not really :)
But this has been just posted at the ICANN forum http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-icm.../msg01584.html Basically they oppose Appendix S, Paragraph 6 of the proposed .XXX registry agreement, because it requires them to meet some obligations regarding Public Whois issues.... Quote:
(each change in the proposed agreement requires a new public comments period as far as I understand it). Keep in mind though that they are opposing just some technical issues, not the whole .XXX idea (to remind you, GoDaddy was supporting .xxx one year ago). -- Anyway, it's been great to see substantial opposition from the adult industry towards .xxx in recent weeks (interestingly - there was no support from adult webmasters towards .xxx anymore - AT ALL!) especially last 10 days or so. ICANN's board is meeting again 13 March and then they are holding a special meeting in Portugal, about 26-30 March (the Free Speech Coalition is planning to send their people to the Portugal meeting). But perhaps ICANN will vote oficially on .xxx already in 4 days? This (pro .xxx) blog entry suggest that as well http://blog.internetgovernance.org/b...8/2791749.html Quote:

What a surprise. We have a list of the top registrars in the industry and Moniker's signature is surprisingly absent. |
