Looking at property down in the Phoenix area and seeing what is available on some websites. What suburbs of Phoenix are good for a young family, good school system, lower crime etc? Nightlife isn't a huge thing, but would be nice also.

The schools systems are the worst here. Arizona is rated as one of the worse school systems in the US. I would check the arcadia district or scottsdale. Stay away from south phoenix or anything west of central.:winkwink:

pinnacle peak and happy valley are good but far away from night life. as for schools my girl friends mom is a teacher and most of the school systems suck out here look for a good private school.

Schools in Ahwatukee (85048) are supposed to be good. Nice area, I used to live there.

Paradise Valley (85253) is the best imo. It all depends on what price range you're looking at. PV will run you $1.5M for a tear-down.

Yeah I'm moving to the Happy Valley area this weekend actually.. Sucks about not a lot of night life but I'll just pay a bigger cab fare I guess..

Yep, those are probably the best family areas with new housing and shopping. Good time to buy right now as the market is flooded and there are some real steals out there if you do your homework.

I see some decent homes in the Gilbert area. Anyone know much about the place?

Depends where at in Gilbert. Gilbert goes out pretty far. So depending on the cross streets you can be out in BFE, or in town. What streets?

I'll have to look again through the listing on remax.com that fit our budget and keep track of the addresses.

I went to Shadow Mountain (Paradise Valley) 'till 98. It was crap, and everyone knew it. :2 cents: The correct answer is Scottsdale. But IMHO the nicest thing you can say about AZ is that it's the perfect environment for turning daughters into porn talent.

All I can tell you is to stay very, very far from Mesa. We are getting hit with a secondary property tax since the city is going bankrupt.
