Anybody else's Google traffic died?

I've noticed that Google has done something a few weeks ago and all of my Google traffic has died. Anybody else is having that problem?

ffmihai 03-09-2007 12:35 AM

yeah they raised all the bids LOL
bid more

kane 03-09-2007 12:37 AM

are you talking about adwords traffic or just traffic from the organic searches?

I know somene that has a blog that was getting some really good traffic and had great ranks in google then it just disappeared and the traffic went with it.

TCAP 03-09-2007 01:08 AM

My organic rankings have suddenly been all over the board the last couple weeks.

reyz007 03-09-2007 01:11 AM

.
the same here :(
.

baycouples 03-09-2007 10:36 AM

I'm not talking about AdWords, I'm talking about regular search results.

Splum 03-09-2007 11:17 AM

Up up up for me, its all about how you play the game

Cyrano 03-09-2007 11:20 AM

Have you fallen into the supplemental index?

What's a "supplemental index" and what happens to a site to fall into it?

I played the game just fine. I was #1 for all 3 of my most important searches. I was there for about 3 years now, and that's why I'm so surprised that it's changed so fast and so dramatically. It's not like I have simply fallen into a 2nd or 3rd spots - my site simply has disappeared from the top 10 at once.

JD 03-09-2007 04:02 PM

yeah took a swift kick in the bag a few weeks ago as well

sicone 03-09-2007 04:03 PM

Are your sites still listed at all?

Yes. So, it's not like I was banned. This has happened about 2 years ago and after 2 months - it all went back to normal. So, I'm wondering if that's the case this time as well. From what I understand it's impossible for Google to dramatically improv or change their algorythm as it's based on a very solid and simple concept. So, whenever they shuffle things around - it only makes it worse and they roll it back when they realize they fucked up.

AtlantisCash 03-09-2007 04:30 PM

this is the google, don't ask why, only be ready for any kind of shit happens...

Sounds to me like you got screwed on "trust rank". Probably linked to a bad neighborhood recently?

myboringlife 03-09-2007 06:09 PM

google drives me nuts
i lost a pr8 link and my google traffic vanished too
then my site dropped from a pr6 to a pr4
shoot me.

What's "trust rank"?

sh33p 03-09-2007 06:42 PM

Sounds like a 'quality' issue.

Sosa 03-09-2007 06:49 PM

I lost my rankings for a few great keywords about 3 months ago and they haven't came back yet. Yahoo on the other hand is doing good for me.

Waveu6410 03-09-2007 06:49 PM

Google dropped me about a month ago, but recently I started getting more keywords and traffic then before they dropped me.

The SEO Hippy 03-09-2007 07:17 PM

Still going strong ........ sorry if I took over your ranks :)

Is there an online scan, or whatever to check if there's links to "bad neighborhoods"..

Would suck to check each link one by one.. is there something that would scan/spider my site & tell me if anything is a "bad neighborhood"?

I dont know of any place that does that currently seems like it would be a tool thats out there already tho. Making a script to do that would be fairly simple via Google API.

Depending on Google is not a good business plan.

100% correct. I've been burned by Google before and I learned from that mistake...

V_RocKs 03-10-2007 05:10 AM

Were your keywords generic and does your website contain porn related content?

Google has been tweaking a lot to remove porn from generic search phrases.
