NEW ie7 + firefox exit popup script ( test please )
this wont get all versions of firefox but some. but your welcome to tell me if it did or not.
This version should get alot more ie7 people than previous version. http://www.wctin.com/out/ I reported a somewhat related bug i found in firefox and it appears they partially patched it but check this out in firefox http://gfy.webspacemania.com/firefox/ ( not for ie ) |
ps it relies on flash so if you dont have flash installed , dont wonder why it doesnt work :)
|
Works here man .. http://www.fling.com/ good job :glugglug
|
I got a popup that says "hi"
but also got a bookmark prompt and a need to install a plugin |
I use Firefox btw
|
worked in IE but nadda in FF
|
this version will actually work in less versions of firefox than before simply because there was some conflict with the popup opening onload in firefox and thats quite pointless but it should work in 99% of ie7 sp2 users with all blockers on
|
im pretty sure theres more than 3 people on gfy right now..
|
Sweet work on IE7.
Hacking away on how you got it to work. Hmm.. movie flash wmv wax |
ooo... more then 4 :p

It never ceases to amaze me when folks try to shove pop-ups onto people who obviously don't want them based upon the browser, extensions and settings they have set up.
This is another great example of why .xxx will become reality. |
Smokey is my GOD?
Ha! |
Scared me what happened in FF (the plugin request, bookmark, ect. as predicted). Tried it in IE7 and it DID pop Fling, but it also popped the bookmark request.

i guess cnn and fox having popups forces .xxx upon us ? :helpme It always amazes me when someone is "forced" to visit my sites, err wait they arent forced to visit my sites nor any site that has popups.. they can simply go away, thats called choice.. It always amazes me you are "forced" to watch commercials on t.v. . oh wait no it doesnt , thats how they make money. |
looking good so far we have 100% success rate in firefox.
|
i got a bookmark pop up on ff
|

a maroon isnt an analogy either , go back to school your dealing with the big boys now not your myspace emo friends :1orglaugh |
|
guess you have to be a few years older/wiser to get it
|
because im such a nice guy i will extend the olive branch and explain what a maroon is and why you shouldnt have really been insulted..
maroon is what bugs bunny used to say back in the day when describing a "moron" , if i had wanted to call you a moron i would have but i didnt mean to be insulting i meant it more as a comical way of disagreeing with you.. ( as bugs would have said " what an ultra maroon" ) You dont have to resort to childish name calling it makes you look small and pitiful like a chatroom kid. Im not going to sit here and expect everyone to be convinced popups are good, theres a time and a place for popups. but to blandly disagree with any popups is silly , all the biggest sites use them like commercials they are a part of the internet . |

1 : to put ashore on a desolate island or coast and leave to one's fate 2 : to place or leave in isolation or without hope of ready escape 3 : a dark red Etymology: French marron Spanish chestnut Well, I'm not feeling overly red and the last time I checked I wasn't stranded anywhere and I don't speak Spanish so I'm thinking the chestnut etymology isn't going to apply either. Watching Saturday morning cartoons for your retorts probably isn't going to serve you very well.

your a kid so you didnt understand YOU made the analogy not i.. i made a comment .. you should be looking up what analogy means idiot. anyone over 30 knows what a maroon is. |

Well, you obviously don't know who I am, and that's ok because I don't play on this level and wouldn't have reason to speak to you normally, but creating a hack to get around browser settings is a moronic thing to do.
Maybe you'd like to tackle a work around for the phishing filter built into IE next? |

At some point, the powers that be are going to have had enough. That point will of course be driven by the public who are tired of having to deal with people/industry that can't "take no for an answer". When you force stuff down their throats even when they've said "I don't want that" and the surfers have taken steps to acquire software to prevent it from happening - you're part of the problem - not the solution. .xxx will happen (though no, not over-night) and this is an example of why. Have you not noticed that many high profile adult .com names are being sold recently? Do you really think that's a coincidence? |
