I have my first MMA fight this saturday!

Well its not a official fight. I let my borther-in-law choke me out 2 years back to see what it feels like and if i would tap. Well of course i didnt tap and i went to sleep. Well ever since then he has small dog syndrome. He keeps im my ear every week that he can choke me out. So last 2 UFC pay per views ago i went to his gym and watched the pay per view and he did nothing but talk shit about how he can choke me or submit but i just smiled. Got to the point were his training buddy's were laughing at me so i said fuck it you wanna do this lets do it find a place.

Well his master or what ever he is called said we can do at there place. Also full blow striking will be allowed which will benefit me. I am 5'11 260 he is 5'7 165 . He is also a purple belt and been training for 3 years. Now i know size dont mean shit but he says he gonna have me tap in 30 seconds. I just want to shut him the hell up dont wanna hurt the guy bad since he is family . Now if he doest submit me in 30 seconds he buys me season tickets to bucs game. If he does i owe him a xbox360.

So needless to say im a bit nervous walking to unknown territory and being know as the ground and pound guy. Hopefully things dont go to bad cause i got a wedding later that after noon in which i need to pose for pictures :1orglaugh

NTSS 03-08-2007 12:39 AM

I think you should wait till after the wedding. You going to tape it and post some clips I hope.

Good luck!

Makingcoin 03-08-2007 12:40 AM

Make sure you get it on video. I predict he kicks your ass. :P

1. learn to sprawl real good
2. back away and circle, keep moving

If you have no ground skills and this guy has 3 years... you're done for the second you're off your feet

emthree 03-08-2007 12:57 AM

Sounds like you're about to get owned.
Better hope the clock saves you.

cheekycherry 03-08-2007 01:31 AM

You have NO training? Good night. Your one advantage is compared to him, you'd heavy mofo, try knocking him out with some lucky strikes and don't get taken down or locked up.

adultsection 03-08-2007 01:52 AM

good luck :)

This is were i do have the advantage. I got about 100 or street fights under my belt from my wild and crazy days. For a big guy my hands are heavy and hard and i am very quick for my size. He has never been in a real fight before in his life. So taging him with a few quick jabs shook shake him. Soon as i see him shoot for my legs the knee's will be going for his head :1orglaugh

chaze 03-08-2007 02:23 AM

Good luck man, and start training so you don't get winded

starpimps 03-08-2007 02:49 AM

from my experience a trained vs non-trained person fight is very amusing to watch.
even if you have been involved in several street fights, its nothing like it.
the ring is the most loneliest place in the world. your going to need a lot of luck to last more than a 3min round.
"I am 5'11 260 he is 5'7 165"
he is fit and u are not (unless ur roided out).
id wait for after the wedding for sure.
im sure you can last 30 secs.... but he is going to be very pissed off knowing he lost and is going to go to work on u

com 03-08-2007 02:54 AM

Sounds like fun man, I've got a buddy who want's to get hurt coming up tomorrow for a no holds barred bare knuckle match. Should be fun! I'll just be playing with him though, unless he truly suprises me! Have fun man, that's what it's all about!

funny you mention this; my match tomorrow stemmed from me challenging a buddy to punch me in the head as hard as he could (fore or side, not temple)... I assured him hed break his hand before I whent down. Well he didn't like the idea so he wanted a bare knuckle match. I even offered to wear light pads the first round. :)

If someone isn't deathly ill....or completely out of shape....& their body structure is such of a MAN....& they have NO FEAR of death

its very hard to knock said person out

i challenge anyone to sock me in the face....& i know a lot of people like that

it's like taking the strongest drug ever, the adrenaline hits the bloodstream & you feel like you can lift a car over your head

i fucking love it

Amen, I've been knocked into stupidity on feet.. but havent had my knees buckle quite yet. Now, I'm not saying I could take a tyson/ali hit to the head and stand... nor would I sit around for it... but with someone within 30lbs ands lesser experience; I'll wear pads, and let them dance. :) Remember it's supposed to be fun!!! Otherwise I'd go right for your nuts, the arch of your foot, the jugular, bridge of your nose then take the ball of my foot across your temple a few... depending on stance, most likely in that order. :)

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 03-08-2007 03:45 AM

i put my money on the smaller, faster, trained fighter any day...

i'm gonna guess you fight something like tim silvia, but with absoutely no ground game, lol. you better hope you tag him with a good punch quick or he's gonna wind up bending you in ways you don't want to be bent, heh.

good luck though. there's nothing more satisfying than clobbering someone who just spent the last however long yipping about how he was going to beat your ass...

Yeah i hear what you sayin. Its just hes been in my ear talkin shit the last 2 years and all i do is look at him and smile. Im not going in with the intentions of purposely hurting the guy. This might be my down fall thou.

You're the same size as me. You'll be hard to take down unless you're in motion. Everything you do has to count. One strategy an old friend of mine taught me when dealing with someone smaller and more experienced is a two-part fake attack...throw a punch but pull it halfway (or sooner), then go into a knee stomp. That's likely to put little guy down and out, he says it has a 95% success rate even against experienced martial artists since it's so unpredictable. He'll be hurt but he'll live, and he'll sure as fuck never run his trap again.

Brake "the other guys" leg !

Lee 03-08-2007 04:49 AM

Im gonna back you on this one. I just cant see him doing it in 30 seconds.

VicD 03-08-2007 04:54 AM

I''ve been a fighter myself, keep thinking and good luck :)

Look at all the big talkers in this thread

If Sleazydream got to hit you once before you got to hit back, and he clocked you as HARD as he could right in the nose, you would NOT be able to fight after that.

i hardly think that'd break an egg behind a couple cotton puffs

rounders 03-08-2007 05:29 AM

my suggestion is to get in some good low kicks while hes about to go for the take down..

Zayne E. 03-08-2007 05:32 AM

Wow...2 guys posting in the same thread about being under 6' tall and weighing 260. Both have weed-related names. My math is pretty good.

Put down the dope, put the bags of chips away, set the remote aside, step into the gym and MOVE your asses before you have coronaries!!!

Side-note...if you can get inside, remember, powerful punches come from your legs...keep your elbow close to your body, lead with your shoulder and don't over-extend your elbow. Leading from the shoulder will force you to thrust your entire body, from the legs, into the punch creating insane power. And keep your hands up at all times. Any punch to the knockout zone, deflected by your hands even slightly, will result in no damage.

Follow these simple steps or plan to get wasted. Your brother is trained...if you come in flailing, you're toast :2 cents: And for god's sake, make sure your thumbs are outside of your fists and not tucked beneath your fingers!

Sluggo 03-08-2007 05:47 AM

Hope you kick his yappy ass! best of luck man.
