Charlie Chapman is my favorite movie star

psili 03-07-2007 07:26 PM

I prefer a fountain pen.

Other than that, I don't use ICQ, wouldn't use basic authentication for a paysite, would never approve a tour like the thousand look-a-likes out there, would rather code from scratch and assimilate bits and pieces rather than opt for a blanket solution to hack... blah blah blah.

Damn... I'm not old school.
*shrug*

I had a wired phone. I coded HTML 1.0. I programmed commercial games on a Commodore 64 less than a year after its release. I watched a TV with dials, and it was black-and-white. I connected to BBS systems with a 300 baud modem. I owned an Atari 2600 and a Pong home machine.

I was there when Advil was invented.

J. Falcon 03-07-2007 08:19 PM

I saw Micheal Jordan, Joe Montana and Don Mattingly play in their primes!!

chaze 03-07-2007 08:24 PM

My first favorite video game didn't use a keyboard.

You had to type "go west" or something like "climb stairs"

I formated my c drive on accident.

I beat qbert

I seen Return of the Jedi in the theater originally

I've been to a Led Zeppelin concert when i was 3

How was it?

Linkster 03-07-2007 08:31 PM

I had a dial telephone, I remember when the first family in the neighborhood got a color tv, I remember when FM radio stations first started broadcasting in Wash DC, I still know a 45 isnt a gun, I used to program Univac computers using gold tipped wire plug cables (and IBM 418's which took up a 10,000 square foot room for one cpu)for a summer job in high school, and I still remember the day they made us go home from school early when John Kennedy was shot and the day that Wash DC was set on fire after Martin L King was killed

Spunky 03-07-2007 08:32 PM

Twenty two ski doo..damn whipper snappers

CuriousToyBoy 03-07-2007 08:40 PM

I saw my first video on the VCR my friend's parents got - the first in our street.

The video we watched ?

Grease.

Uuughhh.

I was like 12 and it was 1979. And the movie even sucked then.

;-)

Hahaha WOW.. I think we have a winner!!

Funny cuz that reminded me of when Reagan got shot, I don't think we went home early though but I do remember them making us watch it at school and had a discussion about it. That was in 3rd grade. That would never happen now cuz some soccer mom would sue the shit out of the school district.

Nodtveidt 03-07-2007 08:47 PM

Fuck soccer moms.

Its weird cause when the riots started they sent us home - we pretty much all walked back in those days cause it was only a couple of miles and I was going to school in upper Georgetown - all the way home there were Natl Guard troops with loaded rifles standing every 15 yards or so on the sidewalk - I remember seeing the machine gun nest they set up on the steps of the Capitol building - with a background of most of the entire downtown area up in smoke.

I am chauncy 03-07-2007 09:00 PM

mikeyddddd 03-07-2007 09:39 PM

My school pictures are black and white, my first album was the Chipmunks on vinyl, my first computer was an Osborne, I paid 12 cents a gallon for gas and James Garner was my paperboy.

I remember in college when it went up to 15 cents - it was an outrage - but they had to justify paying those guys to check your oil and wash your windshields while they were pumping your gas for you while you sat in the car
More importantly though - a sixpack of beer was right at $1 - so for $2 total you had the gas and the beer for the first hour :1orglaugh
