Daylight Savings Time issue?

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 extends the length of Daylight Saving Time (DST) beginning in 2007. Accordingly, DST will begin three weeks earlier than in the past, beginning on Sunday, March 11, 2007 and will end one week later on Sunday, November 4, 2007.

So, if you have your pc set to auto adjust for DST, what are your plans to deal with this issue?

pornguy 03-07-2007 02:02 PM

manually adjust it?

The interesting thing is., that not all the countries that use day light savings time plan to switch as early as the US.

Jim_Gunn 03-07-2007 02:02 PM

I plan to manually update my computers, cameras, alarm clocks and appliances manually if they do not auto-correct. What else would one do?

TheLegacy 03-07-2007 02:06 PM

manually change it.. not a big deal and not worth the hype associated with it

I will call Bill Gates and tell him to push the button that changes the world time once and for all.

aico 03-07-2007 02:10 PM

Bush wanted to try to play God for a day, so he changed the time.

I guess the real issue comes with processing and billings more than personal pc's

lelahosting 03-07-2007 02:23 PM

i dont have to change at all

i live in arizona

but i sort of wish we would here..would be easier. we have some businesses here that change hours depending on time of year due to dst. Even a couple of the walmarts that are not 24/7 change depending on DST from closing at midnight or 11pm.

Katie Couric said there's going to be a computer meltdown because of it.

Well here in Arizona we do not have daylight savings time. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

Daylight Saving Time Help and Support Center

Beginning in 2007, daylight saving time (DST) will be extended in the United States. DST will start on March 11, 2007, which is three weeks earlier than usual, and it will end on November 4, 2007, which is one week later than usual. This results in a new DST period that is four weeks longer than in previous years. Unless certain updates are applied to your computer, the time zone settings for your computer's system clock may be incorrect during this four-week period. In particular, you must make sure that both your Windows operating system and your calendar programs are updated.

That has never been the case... until now US switched a week later than most of the world.

No big deal; just disable auto updating, or manually change it.
