The same Jesse Goldberg from the FTC settlement?

The settlement with Cleverlink, Real World Media, Brian D. Muir, Jesse Goldberg, and Caleb Wolf Wickman bars future violations of the CAN-SPAM Act and the Adult Labeling Rule and requires extensive monitoring of their affiliates for future violations.

I looked in the terms but didn't see what the monitoring involves. Care to shed some light?

Yes that is me, which is the reason I have a zero email policy. I not only do not allow spam, I do not allow email marketing of any kind. Zero Tolerance.

As far as affiliate monitoring, that is why I have my program set up for approval only system. I monitor everyone who signs up, by getting to know them, and the way they generate any traffic they send to me. I do this before they are approved, so they know that email marketing is strictly prohibited.

Let me put it this way...I had to learn a very difficult lesson. I learned that running a clean affiliate program is essential to being successful for the long term. That is what I do. I hope this sheds some light on my past, and how I am 100% compliant with the FTC order.

I hope what happened to me might at least be a lesson to other webmasters that cutting corners, and looking the other way is not the way to do business. Following all the rules and monitoring your affiliates is the only way to be successful for the long term.

Niche sites are the gold mine of the day. As traffic originates more and more from search engines, the more targetted the product the better the conversions :)

Just a note, when you sign up you will not be able to immediately log in. This is because I must first approve all webmasters before they can start marketing. Basically I have to make sure they know there is no email marketing allowed and just to see where their traffic will be coming from. You will get a second confirmation email when you are approved.
