Most people would just go to download Kazaa Lite and get a copy with all the plug ins. But downloading software is bad.

Final Cut Pro is the best HANDS DOWN.

<a href=http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/><img src=http://a784.g.akamai.net/7/784/51/a0d2c1cd61fb0f/www.apple.com/finalcutpro/images/indexphoto106252002.jpg border="1"></a>

yup, but if $ is an issue, probably not an option. also, fcp has a fairly steep learning curve.

no, but it is the best video editing you can buy short of avid. it is actually an incredibly good deal.

we use fcp almost every day.

bawdy 08-07-2002 09:13 PM

Hi Dawgy

u could probable do this using quicktime pro

also make sure that u have set the dv quality setting in quicktime to high... there's an option there somewhere have a look around

good luck

Dawgy 08-07-2002 09:15 PM

i must be an idiot... im getting worse results in premier than i did my crappy software...

RedShoe 08-07-2002 09:24 PM

If you use PC, get Vegas Video 3. It rivals Final Cut Pro, and is considered better than FCP by some people.

I don't have either, but that's what I've heard.

Pornwolf 08-07-2002 09:37 PM

I use Premiere but I will admit that the learning curve isn't steep at all in Vegas. You will be rockin in a few hours after install. Quicktime pro is good as well. I love the MP4 conversion option in it. Also try the standard Movie Maker in Windows XP. It's basic but that might just be what you need.

ok... well ive decided that part of the problem is my video sux. the motion is too fast, and even looking at the imported video frame by frame, its blurry... so i guess when i try to export a still image of a blurry frame, i get tv-lines... ?

any tips on the best format for importing? mine is defaulting to 32mhz, 30fps, 720x480, 16bit audio....

Dawgy 08-07-2002 11:12 PM

alright... now here's an interesting tidbit...

if i export a bmp image series from a clip, i end up with lots of bmps... all at 720x480 just like the video... however they all have tv scan lines .... odd for a DV recorder i think....

if i size the images down, to 360x240, they are clear... no scan lines... look exactly like the should....

any suggestions?

my cam is a sony dcr trv-240 ntsc

De Interlace...

You can do this in photoshop or in premiere outputs.

I prefer to do both for best results

doh. ok that sorta works.

what can i do in premier? like when i go to file > export clip > movie... and set all the options that it will let me set (very few) ... even if deinterlace is set, it doesnt seem to do anything

drunkdollars 08-07-2002 11:30 PM

I think that is about all you can do..
Just make sure you have all the settings at highest quality when you capture the vid

Also in low light of fast moving sections you might not get crisp pics with a 1 ccd camera..

I dont have premiere in front of me just gong from memory

Dawgy 08-07-2002 11:35 PM

hmm... weird...

drunkdollars 08-07-2002 11:47 PM

Yeah i think maybe that cam wont do vid caps as well as some of the higher end models. If you post an example maybe I can tell you more.

This is about as good as I can get them http://clubdrunk.com/personal/cap.jpg

Dawgy 08-08-2002 12:03 AM

well thats about as good as this is getting... some pics i can just deinterlace in PS and looks fine... others it has no affect..

weird... thanx for the help

gotta go pack & catch a plane to florida now :)
