i just got back from cleveland yesterday. they had a special tribute to the clash at the rock and roll hall of fame. Most notably they had some of Strummer's original notebooks containg his songs, and two of his telecasters.

i love the rock and roll hall of fame! the last time i went, though, was a few years ago. they had a similar tribute to jim morrison at that time. i got to look through tons of his notebooks and childhood drawings and stuff. it was awesome!
anyways.. love the clash! now i want to listen to them.

i really wish i had gotten to see the clash live, or at least joe strummer and the mescaleros.
he was, and still is a punk rock god. one of the finest musical minds of the last 200 years. although i will never be able to see him perform, getting to look at his original scribblings of lyrics, and his two telecasters was still really cool.
it sounds weird, but being able to look at his original writings and guitars is almost transcendant in a way.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.Comment
