I wont be on gfy till the ad overlay's are gone.
 

Not because i dont want to , but because i cant ..

I cant get to the main forum , its just spits me back to the flash overlay over and over.. thus i cant view any threads unless i guess and go to the thread directly..

Prob alot of other people with the same problem but they wont be able to see this thread and nor will i after i post it.. all i can do is post new threads.

I actually like the idea of the overlays and i dont see anything wrong with them other than i cant get on gfy when they are on..

Theres got to be a better way to do them ..

p.s. i also notice when the flash overlays are on , you cant access any of the other forums as it spits you from the overlay to the main forum ( that i cant see either )..


So if any sponsor wants to keep smokey from gfy , just buy an overlay :winkwink:

If anyone knows any good up and commer webmaster forums icq them to me.

What ad overlay?I dont see nothing.

If you have flash disabled you wont see the overlays.. or if you using a defecient browser

Smokey: I guess there's some cookie that isn't being set... I seem to remember you blocked flash on GFY due to the talkie ads, perhaps it's the flash that sets the cookie...

nope not me.. i have everything set like any good webmaster should , default just like the majority of my surfers on internet explorer.

It does appear to be a cookie issue as it seems to happen everytime there an overlayd, but not sure why it would only happen on gfy , my cookies work fine on bank of america , epassporte , etc other financial institutions that use cookies that i would assume are using them correctly , with gfy i think it has something to do with the fact theres several domains using the same script like www.gfy.com www.gfyboard.com bbs.gofuckyourself.com etc

i appreciate the adblocker suggestions but i dont mind the ads. i just cant read the forums , i can read gfy fine on my firefox but im not logged in firefox because theres huge holes in it right now i wouldnt be surfing with it , just testing pages.

the only reason firefox was any good security wise was it had active-x off by default.. most holes used active-x thus without it 90% less holes. anyone could simply click a box in ie and accomplish the same function. ok so now firefox had tabs and some other cool plugins and such and granted these are cool features , i dont have the time to play around with those much as im here to make money, my customers use ie for the most part. The other cool features of firefox is the lower learning curve needed to tweak it, but with some tweaking i.e. can be much the same way.

Use firefox because you like its interface and cool features, if your after security its a shot in the dark. ( and right now firefox is holding a flashlight :) )

GFY Overlays provides a link to main forum U can navigate into the others from there

On another note. When they do the overlays over the main forum they often bug out and don't let you click anything on the page. It just goes invisable instaid of actually closing.

the whole point of this thread is that its not leading to the main forum.. its leading right back to the overlay thus there is no way to acces either the main forum or any forum..

Sometimes the overlay points to the main forum and i have been able to access it but to get to any other forum here are no links you must first click back to the index.php that has the overlay..

hope that clears up the confusion

heh read up . i can read gfy fine on other comp or in firefox but im not going to fiddle around with my settings to surf a fucking forum :) or drive a vw bug to get to the racetrack.

Im just saying that i like gfy but if i cant just click click read the forum theres a problem.

Once your on main Clicking on GFY Webmaster Boards @ top instead of going back will take U into index of all others
