can sig whores make a living?
 

Something i thought was odd was a forum poster with 6000 posts claimed
that another with 5000 posts that their sigs were worthless as the market has died mind you both looked to have clocked up a lot of posts quickly as i have a few years on them and less posts i wonder how much the traffic market has dipped if sig market is down all i see is price of traffic rising and sigs=traffic so there fore they must know each other as sig whores or they arent getting what they ask to post full time.

Can sig whores make a living? I know we can't talk about what a post is worth or what a sig is worth but are people making a living out of it?
I know you can sell your sig in buy n sell forums but are they selling and posters wasting their time and ruining reputations with endless posts or are these post converting for them?

The sig market on gfy is dead. Only a a few people make decent money with it but that are the same people who usually already make a lot of money so its not like they are doing it for a living...more as an extra.

And then you have the broke 18 year old losers like Scottybuzz and Squishypimp. To them 200 bucks is worth posting 200 times daily for so yes i guess they live off their sig. At least they did. Both didnt manage to sell it lately hahaha. Losers...

There is one webmaster who live at homeless shelter but instead asking money for sig he want three one way links on blogs with high traffic.

Actualy squishypimp have 26 years.Also their problem is greed-they think if they will post a lot of posts they can sell sig for high prize.It is better to pay sig for someone who make little but quality posts instead someone who doing nothing else just making enormous number of posts.

To make the equivalent of the average wage in Australia you would need to earn about $USD43,500 per year, or $3,620 per month. I can't imagine a dedicated sigwhore living anywhere but below the poverty line. :1orglaugh

I don't know how in other countries but my interenet connection costs about 100$ and i can't imagine how a person can do sigwhoring and make it for living.

i guess selling parking space in Manhattan is more profitable then sig whoring. You just get up early and sit in the parking lot waiting for the " client " :)

Heh,average wage are not same in every country.In my country real average age is 400$ monthly.Official wage is 1000$ monthly,but that is beacuse main city is full with rich people and they raise overall average wage.

If you are making a living as a sig whore you are working too hard or your lifestyle is a tent on the beach and you eat ramen noodles 3 times a day.

I was at a ball game a few years ago, and as I left there was a guy with no legs sitting in a wheelchair with a sign saying something about being a veteran or something. I felt sorry for the guy and threw a buck in the box next to his wheelchair. As I drove home I got to thinking about this guy.

He sits at one of the main exits of that ballpark after every game (I see him every time I go). Assuming that 25% of the people leaving the park walk past him thats around 10,000 people walking by every night. If 1 in 10 people leave a buck in his box, he is making around $1000 a night. 81 home games a year, and the guy is making $81,000 before taxes.

I guess the moral of the story is the sig whores might want to cut off their legs and go to the ballpark. There is more money in it.

even if you can, its almost as bad as being on welfare in my opinion.

if any substantial amount of your total income comes from being a sig whore, you should focus on actually doing some work.

The sigwhores could get lucky, but I'd say that most people would be smart enough to do a search and see that 99% of their messages say "that's cool" or "I'd hit it" or "yeah I do too"

perhaps not make a living, but selling your sig and using the $100 to pay for your connection is better than shelling out $100 from your own pocket :2 cents:

The $100 doesn't come from their pocket, it's still income either way. IMHO sigwhores would be better off doing something that made more money, and which required less grunt work. (Then again... if they were capable of this they'd already be doing it. :1orglaugh )

I can't imagine why someone would spend hours surfing GFY to make $15 (a few hundred bucks per month)

income yes but a full time job no:winkwink: i am a firm believer in the saying "a penny saved is a penny earned"......in my case i would post with or without being paid for a sig....but it makes alot more sense to get paid to do something i would do for free anyways:thumbsup....i'm sure some people fit in the same boat, and the others, i imagine create an army of fake nicks and live off sigwhoring....

and sadly i must admit i could really use sig money presently, so i might move up a few levels of whoreness...just dished out $1300 cash to the dentist.....had my rat terrier puppy slice a deep long gash in my finger, didn't notice one of her puppy teeth had come off in there...got a gnarly staph infection from that or the hospital when i got sutured up...again cash for meds and doctors fees, less than the dentist but more than a 99cent burger...my fault for not having medical insurance i spose....not completly broke, but at the lowest level i've been at in a loooong time...so goes the life of b2b:)

I make more money from the regular webmaster refferal by putting sponsors I like in my sig than selling it for 100 or 200 bucks....

well ur right the real question to ask is what are they making out of the sig?rather that what they are paid for it?
