this check fraud is BULLSHIT
 

I'm considering taking down the check option for my site. (I use CCbill). I make money from checks but the check fraud is starting to almost equal what I make from legitimate checks.

Have any of y'all taken down the check option without a downturn in profits? I figure that a person should have at least a Debit Card that is attached to their checking account. I don't want to do it if I'm going to lose money however.

I don't plan on taking it down becuse my affiliates want it there.

it's not eating bandwidth per se. It's the principal of the thing. I'm figuring if I take down the check option, the surfer will just reach for his credit or debit card. I can't believe there are that many people who ONLY use checks to sign up for a porn site. Why in the fuck would you put your check online and not a credit/debit card? It makes no sense to me. That's why I'm thinking about taking down the check option altogether.

So they are retards. So what? But in fact I would wager that 98% of your check sales are people that do not have a Visa/Mastercard debit card and no credit card at all and/or just a credit card that you DO NOT ACCEPT.

Then they realize they spent wayyyyyy more than they thought and claim fraud.

I posted about this last week, or maybe the week before. I can't decide if it was worth it. I have had them down for a long time, didn't see a difference in sales. However, more chances at money is a tempting proposition.

The thing that stick with me is how ridiculous a payment method this is. If you have every gotten a check from a person, you have all the info you need to use their account to sign up for porn. That can't be right, can it? Stupid payment method.

I/we have the same damn problem. But... I checked all last year's sales CHECKS ONLY for sites I had before I opened smiley and stormy and well...checks have always SUCKED...not a big income generator... but...

So that is about 30% of all checks are BS. Online HOT check writing. But if I took checks down, then I may lose $2300 bucks, which is only $200 a month. Dunno. I always keep putting it off....Sure pisses me off too though.

I lose anywhere from 50 to 250 a day cause of checks getting "returned" too gay, people just know how to play the system

So just stop using checks
