Do you know any of THE 100 OLDEST Currently Registered .COM Domains?

Before you click the link write down at least 10 domain names that you think ARE among the 100 OLDEST AND CURRENTLY REGISTERED names.

Time for you "Old School" webmasters to test your memories.

some interesting domains on that list. I would be curious to see the list of the first 100 adult related domain names registered (even the first 20) and what's on those domains now.

Funny, because as I recall, you could not buy them until 1995 or 96.

I think you're right about 1995 or 1996 for purchasing but you could actually register domain names ten years earlier.

By the way I only guessed IBM, Xerox and Apple. :upsidedow

Registrations were free until sometime in the early 90s, then Network Solutions figured out they could make a fortune, and registrations were $50/year, 2 year minimum (with NSI having the monopoly) until about 1998, when NSI "generously" lowered the fee to $35/year. Competitive registrars appeared in 1999, and prices almost immediately started to plummet.

"Commercial" traffic wasn't permitted on the net until 1994.

Very interesting list. It would be cool to see the first 100 adult related domains registered.
