Today was not a good day....

Got up early to go to the dentist....got in a car accident. An 80 year old guy drove right into the back of our car...then said that we sideswiped him. Had to re-schedule the dentist appt. Dropped car off at body shop (will be lucky to see it in 2 weeks). Went to get some lunch and walk on the beach...got a parking ticket 5 mins. after the meter expired. (Saw the ticket writer walking away as we got to the car.) :Oh crap

Ugh....time for some wine.

Spunky 03-03-2007 07:08 PM

Any consolation is if he rear ended you,he's at fault..sue gramps

PamiebDVD 03-03-2007 07:11 PM

Yep!

The guy was out of his mind. Things were going okay, until he said..."you hit me." Of course, it didn't help his cause that his truck had a crushed front liscence plate and big crunches on its sides. Oh yeah, on the back of his insurance card there was a claim# from another accident.

I'm glad I had my camera phone with me.

CaptainHowdy 03-03-2007 07:12 PM

It the damm eclipse i tell you...

PamiebDVD 03-03-2007 07:14 PM

is that what's going on? everyone around here has been insane today.

that explains EVERYTHING.

Spunky 03-03-2007 07:16 PM

Also lower back pains and whiplash sometimes take a day or so after the shock wears off..see your lawyer Monday ;)

aico 03-03-2007 07:25 PM

Ya, you can't leave the meter expired for more than 30 seconds in LA, those fuckers wait when they pass one that is about to expire. See those things on top of their cars? Those tell them when they pass a meter about to expire.

baddog 03-03-2007 07:33 PM

Sorry about the wreck, but if you were in HB you know they survive on parking tickets.

hmmmm, you want some Ragin Cajun . . . . I'll buy.

I've got a pitbull of an PI. Used him about 6 years ago for a nasty wreck I got into. He's such a pain in the ass, the insurance co's just settle with him so that he'll leave them alone.

I wish the city I got the ticket in actually did that. These guys are a little sneakier than that. Where I live, like baddog said, they make most of their city revenue off of parking tickets. :(

I feel for ya....

Nodtveidt 03-03-2007 08:02 PM

Sorry about your sucky day. :( I stayed in my new house most of the day today, furniture people delivered our new fridge, stove, and washing machine...drain pipe for washing machine was plugged, sending water everywhere (including into the apartment we rent out...fortunately no damage...later, the other drain got plugged, doing the exact same thing!), and the fridge was scratched up in a few places due to bad handling prior to delivery. Daughter was sick all day but slept thru most of it (had a few messes though, was nasty and smelly)...and then turned into holy hell when we got back to our other home, running all over the place and breaking shit (like usual, she's a barrel of fun sometimes :D ). About the only thing that went right today is the excellent pizza place we found in town that we didn't know about before. :D

That is what those guys are for! I think weekly massages and chiropractic appointments paid for out of the old fuckers insurance for the next year or so sounds nice.

I REAAAAALY hate old people that are still driving when they shouldn't be!

PamiebDVD 03-03-2007 11:00 PM

I'm with you on that. This guy had more dings, scraps and bent up liscense plates than should be allowed on vehicle. Should I have been surprise that he was driving an older HUGE pickup truck?

SleazyDream 03-03-2007 11:08 PM

in manitoba where i live we have no fault auto insurance.

you're covered regardless of blaim. injuries get compensated as well - no court. for about $50 more a year on your insurance you get a curtosy car when yours is in the shop due to any accident as long as you need it.

the system works too - on a $70K car I pay only $1200 in insurance and licence fees a year

no need for lawyers, PI's, courts etc

PHP-CODER-FOR-HIRE 03-03-2007 11:10 PM
