Has anyone ever travelled all alone without...

knowing anyone at all in the country/city their travelling too? What was it like?

Do other people notice that you are by yourself and "give you weird looks" for example if you are eating out by yourself or something? What about going to tourist attractions all by yourself? Or will people be too busy to notice or care about you?

I went to Egypt by myself. I did join a tour when I got there, but I went a few days early and was on my own for those days. It was actually pretty cool. You get to do whatever you want without having to wait for or put up with anyone else.

I am a loner by nature and I used to spend 3/4 of the year on the road for work. Why would you think the average person would give a shit who you are or what you are doing there alone? Honestly traveling by yourself is a pretty liberating experience, as you get to do what you want when you want without having to satisfy anyone else. You can make friends on any given night and have a good time with them, but not be stuck with them the next day if you just feel like chilling at a bar or visiting a tourist attraction that only you cared about. Try it, it is very addicting...

don't worry about it, it's great fun and you meet lotsa people! i had some of the best times of my life while on the road alone :)

I have travelled a lot both with others and alone there are a lot of advantages to travelling alone you can be 100% selfish and do 100% what you want when you want. Hooking up with people is always pretty easy especially when you are a foriegn to the country. As far as the wierd looks I am not to sure if people are to busy to notice I am alone or not as I am always to busy having fun to notice them. If you are not 100% just try a short trip to start for a week or so and see how it goes. I say go for it as Doom rightly says it is very liberating

I do it all the time

some positives about travelling alone:
- you and ONLY you decide on where to eat, drink, go, etc etc, I love that

(i'll try to think of more later hehe, there a ton tho)

Could care less what other people thinking about me being or walking alone. Love exploring new places by myself :)

A couple times in the past, but only for business purposes and of course I visited tourists attractions as well. I can't see me doing a holidays trip all alone.

polish_aristocrat 03-03-2007 08:50 AM

it sucks

unless you fuck hookers like Reak, in that case you don't need anyone with you indeed :winkwink:

Adultnet 03-03-2007 08:51 AM

this is fun and you can make new friends.

polish_aristocrat 03-03-2007 08:52 AM

or unlesss you have the ability to make new friends wherever you are within minutes ;-)

JenniDahling 03-03-2007 08:56 AM

I love going on spa getaways by myself... the ones where you're at the resort with nothing but time on your hands and the only appointments you have are with pampering sessions!

Angelo22 03-03-2007 09:05 AM

Went on interrail... was pretty nice, you meet lots of people in the train, hostel, pubs, and sex isnt a problem either

carol.prime 03-03-2007 09:12 AM

Not really out of the country but somewhere very far away from the city --- kinda strange yet exciting especially when the locals of that province started to speak in their native tongue and you don't have a single idea of what they're talking about.

It's actually hard for me to make friends, that's why I don't have friends or anyone to travel with in the first place :1orglaugh

I don't want and am not looking for sex at all, I only want to just travel and go on vacation... just for the sake of going to a different place, getting a different scenery... to get away from it all.

baddog 03-03-2007 06:51 PM

I travel cross country alone more often than not.

I like the looks I get.
