To late. LOL

I'm almost done. I'll post a pic of it later. I think you'll like I it. I made a few cool changes. But this time it requires me to solder 80 anode and cathodes to resistors. I know SHIT about electronics. I'm learning all of this as I go.

those are pretty bad ass though. I will DEFINITELY get those on the next one.

Too bad you REFUSE to tell me what kind of camera you use. Oh well.. I can only drop so many hints before I run out of fucking hints.

RedShoe 03-02-2007 11:05 PM

hey what a fucking coincidence I use a 100B. Do you use any lens adapters? I use a, I dunno.. some japanese one.

The first one I built was on a 100B, this next one is on a VX2000 with a sony 0.70 wide lens adapter.

maybe we could work something out... if you wanna

You are too cool :)For the dvx I have bought any adapters ,they are so expensive compared to what I could buy when I had the vx2000. Dont know if I would use it much with my shadowless news room set up I have been using.

Well if you are dropping hints I have a GL2 and think the 1st one you made was nifty.. When I get the time and effort I was gonna try one for myself..

You're probably better off using a Luxeon Star... much greater output in a single LED.

Here's one with the "torch" style optic that I mentioned previously:

Here's another way to do it, Luxeon + Lens

It's an aussie site but I am sure you can find this elsewhere...

That thing looks like I'd get nothing but this kind of a result.

Remember I don't know electronics, I just make this up as I go. Is there a way to add a potentiometer?

Yeah, with 3 x 1W LEDs as a point source you would probably need to worry more about blinding your subjects, than just overexposing them. The lenses that fit over the LEDs are wide angle so they diffuse and spread the light, although they may still be uncomfortable to look at.

You can use a pot (it would need to be rated at probably 5W) but you can probably buy off the shelf Luxeon drivers which include dimming.
