The CHP called

Some of you may recall that about a week ago I came upon a pretty nasty wreck.

They still have not figured out exactly what went down, and I guess I am as close to a witness they have. I have to admit, rehashing the evening to them, even after a week, is rather unsettling.

Feel sorry for the guy's family.

Martina Warren 03-02-2007 08:42 PM

Thats terrible, the family must be devastated

Wow I didn't even see that thread last week. I hope you're dealing with it alright... To think, my father's been a firefighter for a long time; he must see some messed up stuff.

Bods4Mods 03-02-2007 08:58 PM

It is cool they have you to sort things out with. I am sure the family will appreciate it.

when i was a cop i was the first responder to a car crash near the santa maria area. i saw a baby in a carseat impaled into a chain link fence. i couldnt sleep for weeks and couldn't shake the images from my head for the longest time. all three passengers were killed. it didnt shake me so much seeing dead adults, but the infant really really fucked me up for a long time.

INever 03-02-2007 11:39 PM

thank you for being on the front lines........

DaddyHalbucks 03-02-2007 11:42 PM

Did the guy turn out to be a father, or no?

SPACE GLIDER 03-03-2007 01:37 AM

That sucks. I was TOLD I looked directly at the body of someone who'd been hit by a car, but to this day that's a total blank.

Right on.

You said "family," and so I cringed. I guess it's really an irrelevant matter, though... I mean, no matter which way this one played out, people are losing fathers and mothers and daughters and brothers (by blood or not) unexpectedly every day.

Shit happens. We've all seen it, or at least felt it.... some a bit more than others, perhaps.

C'est la vie. Strap your shoes on, and continue on.
