Update on Me
I seriously appreciate all the well wishes left here I had a tough week.
started out with removeal of a nerve sheath tumor from my spine, that surgery was very successful. The problems came in recovery my surgery was done on wed am at 645, it was mon at 8am before my pain meds had been delivered with no fuck ups for 24 hrs the worst was sat night when they put the dilaudid pump in but never connected it to my IV so i went 12 hours pumping my pain med into the floor 3 days after spinal surgery I had no pain meds for 12 hrs and I went into a pain induced dementia...I was literally crazy. When the new nurse asked me at 8am how I felt I had a moment of clarity and said if pain could kill you I'd be dead. she checked my IV and found all the dilaudid in the floor and she freaked out but she quickly got me dosed and got the pain under control. That was not the only fuckup just the worst and combined they set my physical therapy way back because I was in too much pain to even try to walk. finally mon afternoon I took my first steps and since I have been doing way better...today I walked all the way around the hotel Im in till i can handle the steps in my house some of the time today I even lifted my walker so that I was walking on my own. I will get back to normal and I still have a good deal of pain but eveything is on track now The one thing I learned from all this is the importance of having someone with you 24/7 after major surgery you cant trust the hospital staff to properly administer your meds and everything so YOU or someone else has to do it...soon as I started staying on top of the meds, my recovery began to improve drastically. again thank you all for the good karma and kind words...I love ya all for it. Good to hear you are getting back on your feet...
What you reported about the hospital screw up is all too common. Having someone that you know check in on you on a regular basis is much better than relying only on medical staff, who may look at you as just another patient occupying a bed. Continue getting well - we miss your rants. :winkwink: ADG Webmaster |
holy shit mike, I am so sorry that happened to you man, the pain must have been unimaginable
get better soon so tabitha, myself and you can go shoot some soda bottles in the country!!!! |
thanks adg I ended up having someone stay in the room with me 24/7 My brother and one of my models were kind enough to do that for me and for that i am forevver indebted to the model. Family has a kind of obligation but this little girl did it out of the goodness of her heart and she drove 2 hrs from Columbus GA to do so. THAT made me feel really good cuz its a reflection on how I treated her when I shot her and alll.
I also want to thank tony404 who has proven to be a good friend throughout all of this as well...I love him and mandy like family...OK I guess im rallying or whatever...but seriously...Thanks Y'all |

Is there a potential for legal action against the hospital? Punitive damages for that 12-hour fuck up? |
