domain people.... are .tv's worth anything?
i have warez.tv
- is it worth anything at all? I have never had a warez or password site but imagine this would be a decent domain for one. |
no.
|
nope...unless you have something like sex.tv
|
I will give you $100 for it. No more.
|
no tv corp is a scam /rip off
|
There is a webmaster program that has a site with .tv in it, but they have affiliates sending hits all day so it doesnt really matter what the URL is ;)
|
Does it matter?
You promote the url the same way. You can tell a trade to send hits to a .tv domain just as easy as a .com domain. |
just wondering if it was brandable. warez site would be useless to me.
|
a scam? what are you smokin.. the whole purpose of having a domain is to try and make it marketable,it doesnt matter what the url ending is... If i ever opened up a mainstream business and bought a billboard ad, blah.tv would come in handy....
|
Yeah, unless you have a domain that's going to get a ton of type-ins (which are limited and taken), I don't think it matters. As long as visitors can remember it, it can be branded.

I agree...There is no point about worrying about type-ins unless you have sex.com or the like. Personally I think .tv is second best to .com as the public is used to identifying the term. ie "cumshot television" or whatever. I have .hm sites that do over $10k a month so I am certainly not worried of unusual domains. |
Surfer get confused trying to remember anything that's not .com! They barely know .net. Now we have all these other tld's that will confuse them more. All the potential good .tv's are taken anyway.
I remember I helped a freind get a domain for his cleaning service the other day. His company's name was taken as a .com & .net so I got him a .biz He said, "What the hell is a .biz?" .tv ? Naaah! |

not too long ago there was only three tv stations... the internet is young, just wait until the bigger commercialized companies start using different suffixes |
Yeah, later. Much later! We gotta figure out what to do with the current broadband situation before that becomes a pressing concern. That's gonna take a few years. Until then...
