question for hosting companies

I'am not happy with a provider so I'am deciding to move soon.

Is it a tough job to move everything over to a new host? How much does it cost to get you to do this when starting up as a new account.

tony286 02-28-2007 09:42 PM

talk to web air they will hook you up

baddog 02-28-2007 09:43 PM

depends on things like . . . number of scripts, databases, sites, amount of content

aico 02-28-2007 09:45 PM

I am not a hosting provider, but I have moved hosts several times. They usually move it all for you no problem, the biggest problem is testing and changing the scripts on your site(s). Different servers have different directory paths.

None, because I didn't change the Name Servers until it was all working correctly.

Shouldn't be that big of a deal . . . although I will admit I know nothing about site depth beyond being a CMS

well that should not be a problem... at all:)

Jace 03-01-2007 01:08 AM

i moved to www.nationalnet.com and I use sitedepth and phpadsnew

they did the whole thing, not one single issue or second of downtime

u-Bob 03-01-2007 05:29 AM

I recommend you contact Caz (304883574) from OC3 Networks.

Klen 03-01-2007 05:32 AM

I was once lost important data,so when i was moving from one host to oc3 i developed one tool which make transfer very easy and transfer was like host wasnt changed at all.

Take a look at Dream Host
$7.95/month for 2000 GB bandwidth, unlimited domains and subdomains, 1 FREE domain registration included in the price, 200 GB disk storage!
For your needed bandwidth probably, the 2nd or 3rd virtual plan would be suitable ...
Please contact me on ICQ 30160426 if you need more info. :)

Lycanthrope 03-01-2007 05:42 AM

Would be a relatively simple task - and most, if not all reputable hosts will take care of the migration for you - with no extra charges.

These stupid recurring spam posts should be banned !

On topic: the whole site can be moved using shh rsync ( db, site, scripts, etc ...).
Sitedepth: check with them...I think the scripts check the domain for a licence, but if it is an IP, you would have to update the license info.
