Why? I don't like webmaster conventions. Only way I'm going to another one is if I have a program to promote.

A nice benifit of skipping conventions is you don't come down with Convention Crud. Seems everyone comes down with a nasty bug after a show. Webmasters carry germs even more potent than Baby Germs.

Good to see someone who isn't going because of preference. Personally, I doubt I would ever go a lot... Once I was making more money, though, I'd love to actually Meet some of the people I work with.* The internet is too impersonal.

I am not going to Florida because:
1) My car is not worthy to make the trip;
2) It cost too much to fly;
3) I'm afraid to fly (even before 9/11);
4) Isn't Florida down by Cuba?

I'm staying home as well....I'm meeting with a certain house of ill repute that is finally getting plugged in (look for the affiliate program spam in a couple weeks). I figure a big client like this is more important that sweating in Florida while drinking too much, looking at too many naked bodies and watching the drunken and drug feuled shenanignas....damn...maybe I will try to sneak over for a day....................

Today, I went shopping. School girl uniform and PVC lingerie. Now, I have to clean this pigpen of a house before a model shows up tomorrow. Oh, the glamorous life of a photographer...

These threads always remind me of the chicken and the egg debate...I know I didn't start making real money in this business until I started going to the conventions.

True, after being to a few they can get redundant, but if you go for business they always bare fruit in the long run...:)

So, I always tell people that are not making enough money at this or interested in getting into this, networking is key and conventions are a Prime place to do this...
