How much is my site worth?
 

Hello Everyone,
some of you may know me, some not, some of you like me, some hate me. I ask you all for help now.

I run Pichunter.com, pretty young site, about 1 year old. When you go to http://ranks.sextracker.com , you will see it is ranked #7 and still growing.

According to UCJ stats, I get 516,000 Trade traffic , and 467,000 bookmark traffic. I think if I placed sextracker counter at the top, sextracker rank would be even higher now.

My question to you is, how much is my site worth - money wise. I am thinking about selling it while it is still good and growing, noone knows what will happen in a year or two. How do I price such a thing? What aspects do I look for? What is the value of this site? Is here anyone who knows this stuff? And where do I find a buyer?

Please guys, don't tell me it's worth 2 pennies...etc, I am quiete serious about this and seek your help.

I think some posted here, that you should take your monthly income you make with selling gallery spots and your sponsors and multiply it with 6 or 12 months.

That would be an acceptable price unless you are making millions with your site :winkwink:

the problem is that although you are very good in making a site growth very fast, i think you don't know how to make it bring $ that will reflect your sextracker position. This is probably one of the primary reasons you want to sell it.

I seem to remember a post from you not so long ago, gotys(sp?), where you were complaining that even though pichunter had 300k uniques a day, you were making 3$ a day with it. You at that time wanted to sell it for 60k, IIRC.

Shortly after that, you began selling placement on the site, which is a good move if you can't convert the traffic.

Is that not working out for ya? Trying to sell it again?

I know that most TGPs traffic these days is utter shit, it's CJ traffic.

i'm not a tgp guru, actually the opposite but there plenty things i dont like in your site that cause it as i said not to bring the $ they should. If you want some friendly help hit me on #142032164. I don't think you can set a formula for the value of a site...

To outright buy my sites, they would be worth very, very little... Since they are based on very specific content, once that content runs out, what good are they except as domains?

On the other hand, to buy it and hire me to keep them going, they might be worth more... since an owner who actually knew some marketing could make a heck of a lot more money than I do.

So, the real question is... What is your site making? Could it make more in someone else's hands, or less?

but when talking about a free site - where the content is the galleries that are submitted daily - and the value comes from a mix of the return traffic and current traffic trades. The first two probably won't change if the owner sells the site.

Certainly, the owner' adds value with the third -
- the mix of free galleries vs advertisements
- AND it might be the mix of how many trades he starts a day
- which trades he accepts,
- what productivity he is looking for.

But these are things that are easily trainable.

I have boughten a few free sites - I would never pay more than 6 months profit.

certainly for Paysites - there are other valuable assets that should be considered (stockpile of content, email lists, etc.)

If 800k a day of straight traffic tgp was such a hot commodity, I am amazed it would have to even be advertised to be sold. If you had a paysite that generated something as pathetic as 50k a year, you bet your sweet ass you wouldnt have to advertise it on GFY.

Why wouldnt some little (tee hee) megalomaniac like Sleazydream not want to snatch it up and instantly double his traffic. ANd in theory, double your traffic, double your income eh? If Sleazy makes 10 dollars off 100k, if he had 200k he could make 20 dollars. cha ching.

i dont see 800k, i see 475k from sextracker.. seems like it really depends on trades, if it was a straight up tgp such as book-mark.net it would be worth a lot more

Why not use that pichunter site to start another site? And then sell pichunter. This way, you get the money for your monster, and you used it to feed a new site, which will no doubt grow into something as large, if not larger. Either way, you should really sign up for a trade with hioctane.com :Graucho

That is a shitload of traffic. I am surprised some large paysite program doesn't snatch it up. If I was Maxcash, TopBucks, SIC, I'd try to get it, plaster my programs ads all over it (he's got it broken down by niche already), give webmasters in my program preferential treatment, and make everyone run a link for a FPA of my sites. Then I'd be snatching up the newbie webmasters, get em all excited about the traffic they are gonna get, and make a fucking fortune off the exit traffic on the FPA.

the real large TGP sites that sold in the recent past didn't have to advertise...... folks who are willing to buy know which sites have real traffic and which have less valueable traffic. They sell the less valueable sites to you Labert for piddly amounts like $15k (less than the TGP VIP parties cost me by the way)
I've bought two TGP sites in the last year in case you'e wondering, and neither were advertised on GFY.

example: I didn't see worldsex advertising on here when it was sold..... Although I wish it was as I'd have liked to make a serious bid on it.


All in all though, I think what Pichunter wants for his site is a reasonable amount. (he'll tell interested buyers the number he has in mind) One might have to tweek his business model a bit to suit an individuals income grneraton needs but there is real traffic there. I'd be interested but I too many other things on the go at the moment.

I dont' think whoever buys it will be disappointed.

His counter is on the bottom of his page. That will lose 30% of the hits, at least, counted by SexTracker. ST is cool, but they are not even close to 100% accurate. Even with the code on top of the page. Most of the time, I will see double the traffic running thru my stats that ST will show on any of my listed sites.

selling it because your afraid of bush may shut you down is not a great reason to me.. is there something else that is making you want to sell it??

i think Steve already gave some great tips and as Labret said we are talking about a VERY large site. Even if it's not that great the quantity of it, if properly used should bring lot of $$ making you wanting to keep it.....

there could be dozens of reasons for him wanting to sell it, just as there are dozens of reasons for wanting to sell a paysite
