David Lee Roth Disses Ron Jeremy

Going back a few years now... I think it was something like 1999, at IA2000 in Vegas... CCBill (and probably others) throws a huge party and gets David Lee Roth to headline. Industry only. Roth is drunk as hell, stumbling all over the stage. Anyhow, apparently there was a private party afterwards where Roth hung out. Now, here's the question. I remember it was said that Ron Jeremy showed up, and old Diamond Dave basically said that either Jeremy had to leave or he would leave. Anyone know if this story was just industry urban legend or if it actually happened?

LAJ 02-27-2007 09:21 AM

Man I would have loved to have been there to witness that.

Well... as much of a fan of David Lee Roth AND Ron Jeremy that I am... If I was the organizer, and given how Dave was acting, I would have gotten a few security guards in the wings and told Dave "you might as well JUMP".

I'm sorry, but under no circumstances should Ron Jeremy be asked to leave an adult party... hell... ANY party.

does it really matter if it happened in 1999?

To quote another product of the past.... nothing really matters, anyone can see, nothing really matters... to me.

But in all seriousness... just one of those things I was talking about with a buddy and neither of us could remember if it really happened. I definitely remember the stories... it just makes one wonder WHY anyone would have a problem with Ron, he's such a nice dude.

Connor 02-27-2007 09:35 AM

Of course... one wonders how many of you GFY posters were actually out of high school in 1999. ;)

True story

I was there with Houston and it was the first night I met RJ-

:-))

I met him and went to the Silvercash/hustler/ party at the top of the Las Vegas Hilton afterwards in the Elvis suite.

There Ron got his dick sucked by every female fan in attendance.
He was there cause he got booted.

Zebra 02-27-2007 11:22 AM

And of course we all know where the company that paid for Diamond Dave's appearance is today... LOL

american pervert 02-27-2007 11:26 AM

man oh man.. i love talking about hanco/prime xtc

Fap 02-27-2007 12:01 PM

Diamond Dave's talk show sucked.. all i had to add to this thread

Connor 02-27-2007 01:18 PM

Wow, so it was a true story... kind of figured it was, actually.

Imagine being in this position: You're a company trying to make a splash in the industry, so you hire the former frontman for Van Halen to do a private show for your clients and prospective clients. You have a party afterwards, featuring your star attraction: David Lee Roth. Ron Jeremy shows up, and for whatever reason (I'm assuming Dave was intimidated by Jeremy's cock), Dave demands that either Ron goes or he goes. You know a lot of the people at the party are there to see Dave, but fuck, Ron is a nice guy and has done nothing to deserve being tossed. Do you: a) take Ron aside and say, "Hey buddy, please don't be offended, but you have to go." Or do you b) tell Dave, "Thanks for the show, now get lost?" Either way, someone's going to be pissed. Glad I wasn't in that situation... damn. :upsidedow

Didn't Prime XTC throw that party? I was at the party hanging out with the Prime XTC guys (they were a trip... funny thinking back). The Prime XTC guys looked at my wife and I and said, "This blows" (referring to Dave), "I hear there's a party at The Hilton... let's head over there." So we went to that party.

And I believe that was VoyeurDorm's party at the Hilton, if I'm not mistaken. That would have been the first time I met a couple of these guys.

Wow... I remember Prime XTC... or at least, I remember the massive and ill-advised marketing campaign that took place in Vegas. I can't imagine what they spent. Are any of those guys still around? Danny, that was back in the days of your libertarian-slanted editorials that I enjoyed so much.... hahaha. You writing much these days?

David Lee Roth is a flaming homosexual.

uno 02-27-2007 04:38 PM

David Lee Roth Might As Well Jump

D-Money 02-27-2007 04:40 PM

I remember that party.

Soon after that a white artist was rising named Eminem.

I could have had Eminem for $30k and turned it down. I thought he would be the next Vanilla Ice. Now he's a million bucks IF he decides to do it.

Well, at least I didn't do David Lee Roth!

He wouldn't do it. I worked on his Slim Shady Show DVD, and his agent made it very clear that if they did have a kick off party for it, Eminem would only show up for a few press pics before the party, then leave, and that was only like a 25% chance.

I always write, but not much industry-related stuff lately. Think I should jump back in? Maybe start outraging some conservatives again?

The word libertarian... makes me cringe these days. I'm very libertarian, but I'm far removed from the imposters who call themselves the Libertarian Party in the US.
