Yup, you're right... it WAS yellow with black lettering... about 19 years ago. Most have been changed since then though, but some old signs still linger... particularly in our memory.

yellow triangle is Danger not yield .. You do how ever on occasion see them in Yellow with the word Yeild in it .. But that's usually on some ol' country roads ... More as a danger sign then a yield


But for those that still don't know .. easy way to remember

I always see the red/white on the freeway but it just didn't come to mind.
I just remember the old yellow signs.
