UltraEdit
www.idmcomp.com

I don't like editors with huge GUI's. UltraEdit is fast, and powerful. I haven't tried some of these others that were listed.

faytl 08-06-2002 04:56 PM

Yup what he said UltraEdit dont leave home without it
I have had to open 150 files once when I used RS because there was an error in the html I missed did a search and replace in all 150 files at one time then did a save all and fixed the problem in about 2 minutes

I tried using mx didnt like it at all for php coding

dnsmonster 08-06-2002 09:36 PM

Dude MX has nearly the same damn layout as HomeSite when you switch to editor mode. How can you not like it? Lots of other cool shit like server sniplets, etc. I have a huge library of stuff I pre-written and I plug it into my code with a single freaking macro.

Jaded_Fool 08-06-2002 09:38 PM

I gotta say Dreamweaver MX

After using homesite MX just seemed so much cleaner and easier.

Mainly cleaner :)

Tim2 08-06-2002 09:42 PM

Dreamweaver MX rules! Homesite is pretty good too.

Dreamman010 08-06-2002 09:45 PM

vi.

foe 08-06-2002 09:48 PM

Hmm going to try mx now

skazzel 08-06-2002 09:53 PM

Vim / GVim is definately where it's at. You can even run it under windows if you insist.

foe 08-06-2002 09:58 PM

nm only got ultra dev, anyone use that ..... for now Im sticking with vi

Swiftone 08-06-2002 10:59 PM

NuSphere's PHPED is godly. It's $300 unless you pirate it, but well worth it if you spend a lot of time coding IMO.

Darren 08-06-2002 11:50 PM

tks very very helpful, i have a few good uns now

mike503 08-06-2002 11:56 PM
