What temperature do you keep your house at?

My place is freezing today for some reason. Generally at this time of year I like it to feel a bit toasty but not boiling hot. What temperature do you have your house at?

PurrrsianPussyKat 02-26-2007 12:33 PM

It's usually about 65-66 according to the small thermometer I have on the table. My grandparents won't visit in the winter because it's "freezing" in here. lol I think it's perfect.

fuzebox 02-26-2007 01:08 PM

Most my windows don't have glass in them :winkwink:

I get a pretty good crossbreeze so it doesn't get too hot.

We aren't allowed to have weather like that in London because if we did even more people would want to move here :)

ADL Colin 02-26-2007 02:02 PM

...... 74

JD 02-26-2007 02:04 PM

55-60 during the fall/winter/spring. In summer my shit turns into a fucking oven... I had a candy bar MELT on my desk last july haha

Jakke PNG 02-26-2007 02:06 PM

I have floor heating that has 2 settings, on or off (it should have more, but they're not working..)

it's either 21c when it's off or 26c when it's on... so it's not good either way. It's on, and I work in the nude.

bastardsquad 02-26-2007 02:12 PM

since its boiling outside here most of the year its usually set around 72-73...

if and when it gets a little cooler out then its usually around 76...

Sarah_Jayne 02-26-2007 02:46 PM

of course now I figure out the boiler light was out

This is a cute question -- I keep my apartment around 60 degrees F, but bundle up. Gas is expensive. Plus my place is like a sieve.

Angelo22 02-26-2007 03:03 PM

0° Kelvin

Gas can get mega expensive..especially if you, like me, cook with it too. Sometimes you just have to put a sweater on instead.

WebairGerard 02-26-2007 03:07 PM

usually set to 67 or 68

Methodcash Rick 02-26-2007 03:07 PM

Damian_Maxcash 02-26-2007 03:17 PM

Either too hot or too cold.

Ths house is way to big to be consistant without central heating. Maybe next year I will get it installed.

We keep ours around 72 - 73 during this time of year. Actually that is what it is staying on it's own right now with no heat or AC on. The wndows are open and it is gorgeous out.
Now in the summer when it is 120 out, we keep it at about 78 inside.

Scott McD 02-26-2007 03:59 PM

No idea. Just not too hot, and not too cold. Although this room gets unbearable at times in the summer...

KustomKowgurl 02-26-2007 03:59 PM

I think 72 is perferct, but since I don't want to pay as much as it costs me to turn the heater on right now, it's been sitting on about 60 for the past couple of weeks. Finally starting to warm up though, so I'm pretty happy :)

Peaches 02-26-2007 04:12 PM

64 during the winter, 68 during the summer. And I just got the highest electric bill in 6 years with no big change in outside temp. Not sure what the deal is on that. Almost 40% higher than the month before :(

Mr Pheer 02-26-2007 04:25 PM

65 - 70 during the winter and 75 - 80 during the summer

I try to save energy. Right now most of the windows are open because its like 68 degrees outside

Bruce_Miller 02-26-2007 04:27 PM

In the winter here we keep it around 68 at night, and about 71 during the day, during the summer it's about 76.

BrettJ 02-26-2007 04:27 PM
