I asked at my bank and she had no clue:Oh crap

If you're looking to buy into an index, check out REIT on NYSE.

Many REITs are publicly traded.

Just be sure to do your homework. I've made quite a bit over the years with REITs, but have been burned a few times as well.

Open a discount broker account at your bank (they all have one now) and just buy the REIT you want online. It's just that simple.
