What do you use for server performance monitoring?

Ideally looking for something that doesn't break the bank, sends regular reports, and email alerts when someting happens. Don't need sms as I can check emails on my phone.

Cheers

what kind of servers? Linux?

if so then then do Logwatch. It is a customizable log analysis system. It parses through your system's logs for a given period of time and creates a report analyzing areas that you specify, in as much detail as you require. Logwatch is already installed on most CPanel servers.

www.watchmouse.com it can monitor most services and it is remote. its worth checking out.

Nagios
Cacti + threshold alerting
Mercury Sitescope (the best, but costly)
Zabbix
Munnin

There are literally dozens of options
