Anyone here know OPENADS? (formerly phpAdsNew)

Anyone wanna shoot me some advice? I'm trying to set up a zone that will display multiple banners at the same time. For example I want 10 banners at 120x60 to run down the right hand side of a site, and I want them to rotate and maybe get listed in ascending order of the most popular clicked. All the rank by click stuff is secondary to just getting 10 to list at once.

Right now I can only get one to show up. :Oh crap
I thought about just adding the code 10 times but that will increase the load time and I'll end up with a killer html size, and on top of all that I still would have a way to control which banner is displayed. I would think that doing that way could run the risk of showing the same banner all at the same time. :(

Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

is that possible with openads? I tried something similar a while back and it just showed the same banner all at the same time...

I thought this thing was supposed to be bad ass. I sure hope I can get it to the one thing I need it for.

did you ever find a solution Cyber-Hu$tler? Or did you just move onto good ol' reliable Java Script for banner rotation?

well in my situation I was trying to be cheap and use openads to create a fake tgp... I just decided to buy AutoGallery SQL after a few failed attempts.

Sounds like you need to create 10 different zones and place the invocation codes right under each other.

I have played with phpAdsNew a lot and as far as I know you will need to add 10 invocation codes with 10 zones to make it work properly.

Its an amazing script, but if you have heavy traffic and/or lots of ad spaces it needs a dedicated server.

OpenAds boasts it can do a billion ads a month - it just dosnt tell you that you need a server farm to do it.

it has a tit category... :thumbsup

you have to add the code 10x

don't worry, the load is minimal

I have run entire tgp's from 100's of invocation codes in opendads without much server load whatsoever

if it is the same zone (same size ads), then you can do ONE zone with 10 invocation codes

Thats where it starts getting messy - it would end up showing the same ad for all invocation codes after a while if they are in the same zone.

RedShoe 02-24-2007 11:10 PM

Jace were you doing the PHP code or the JavaScript code?

not if you check the "Don't show the banner again on the same page" button

I also use the "remote invocation code for javascript", mainly because I have 1 installation of openads and I run over 100 sites with it

AHH HAAA!!! The don't show the same ad on the same page button. Wow.. don't I feel like a fool (not the first time though)

1 install and it runs on 100 sites. Damn, I was wondering how to do that. We installed it like on 40 domains. :( That's ok though, we're just learning it on this one domain, so maybe we can dump the others and just use this one.
