Scamming on Ebay:
|
Heh thats actually pretty funny to me right now.
I bought a laptop off ebay last month. Here's a bit of the story... I was bidding on a brand new IBM a22m 1.6ghz Suprisingly I won at a bid of only $860. I contacted the guy and luckily he only lived an hour away, so I told him I would meet him at his location (well at a mall close by his house, hell no I wouldnt actually go to his house, prolly get robbed) Anyways I take my brother and this girl with me as proctection eheh and meet up with this guy in the mall parking lot, broad day light. So he pulls out the laptop, I turn it on, scroll on down to system properties, check out the MHZ, and it says 645mhz. I'm like dude this aint the same laptop I was bidding on ebay for. He was then like "blah blah blah its a stolen laptop actually I dont really know much about them" lol really I could careless if it was stolen or not personally, cant hurt me if I get caught with the thing. So I examine it a little bit more, checking the ram etc. I tell the guy, well im not giving you $860 because its not even close to the one you were offering. I'll give you $500. Deal. So all in all I got a pretty nice laptop for only $500, stolen or not I like it :c) I get home, check out who Windows is registered under, says "@#(*%@&$ Day School" (I wont release the school name here eheh) but ya its registered to a f'n school. Oh well thats my story :c) Dont ever buy a laptop off ebay! |
The guy in the story was dumb 'cause he got caught *shrug*
|
he was in training to be the next sasush.
|
give him a year or two and he'll become and adult webmaster...

can't wait for FOONTIC's newest thread:
i Sale 800MHZ laptop |
The guy was very stupid. I'm surprised shit didn't hit the fan sooner - the guy is nuts. Who couldn't tell the difference from 25 Mhz to 233 Mhz?! My god! He should have known that sooner or later, at least one person would get pissed... $800 for a 25 MHz machine, ha ha ha h :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

true.
maybe they have different law though. but if you do get caught with it you would get it taken from you. so basically it would hurt u. |
if i get caught..which i wont (knock on wood) then ya they will take it from me.
chances are slim, if they take it i just buy another :p O and btw I found a 11mbps wireless lan card in the bag that it came in eheh another $60 value |
no wonder my computer is so slow, i thought i got a great deal on my 33mhz laptop! I only paid $1200!

I bought a laptop off ebay and got a great deal on it. The only thing that killed me were the brokerage fees that UPS charges on shipments from US to Canada.
Shipping was about $35 and UPS ended up charging me about $50 in brokerage fees. |
I always see fuckers selling outdated merchandise a release higher than it is.. but it would be hard to pick.. the other day I saw a sony DSC-s75 being sold as a DSC-s85 you'd only pick it up if you saw the lack of MPEG EX function on the list of features and a "picture may not be of actual model" disclaimer.. hahahahas.
it's just small enough a difference to claim a mistake if ever they noticed.. |
There was a guy who sold "PS2 picture below" and not a "PS2 pictureD below"
He sent all the winners a picture of a PS2 :( |

Would that hold up in court? I'm signing up to ebay right now... |
Last year, I got fucked for almost $900 for a digital camera.
I jumped through all the hoops that eBay wanted me to - to try and get my money back, but, of course, I got nothing. I even persued it through PayPal, but they said that they could not help me because the sellers address was not 'verified'. Well, it was verified when I sent him the money! :ak47: It was partially my own fault - The guy who I won the camera from only had an eBay rating of 1. |
