If you make a living strickly from online adult entertainment. you are a webmaster if not keep working hard

I make money and run both adult and mainstream websites full-time for about 10 years. I think that is what qualifies me as a webmaster.

Your a surfmaster I guess. I know html front and back but that's about it. I haven't even tried to learn php but I'm sure I could learn it if I wanted to. I also know how to build and run a tgp but they seem to be a waste of time to me

I think that if a person owns and runs at least one site (even if they don't make a dime) they are a webmaster.

Now a successful webmaster is a different story, but for that you would need to define success, which doesn't have the same definition for everyone.

I run interwebs. :)

By the way, if you can't code html or some kind of web markup/programming language you are not a webmaster. Bottom line.

I can deal with business management, business development and application deployment.

so, reading the comments if I were to run a network of sites, regardless of how much they made, but paid someone to do the grunt work of 'webmaster', would I qualify?

There's no need to continue to learn once you know the foundations if you're at the point where you pay someone else to do the bulk of it. XML, Soap, Ajax, Web 2.0 stuff, I'd rather just pay someone to be honest. :2 cents:

Spending the time trying to keep up with the Jones' by yourself will keep your business two steps behind.
