Do you trust Epassporte

Battsbucks.com has been in the process of obtaining an epass account to pay our affiliates.

After seeing all these threads today about Epass I am left thinking how many webmasters would still want to be paid by Epass from programs.

thumbs down

baddog 02-21-2007 10:07 PM

Trust? Sure, I don't think they are out to steal our funds, I just think they have issues they have to deal with because of their being offshore.

That being said, I would never leave more than $500 in there at a time.

Jace 02-21-2007 10:12 PM

like baddog said I don't think they are trying to steal anything from us

but the thing that worries me is that if they get shut down suddenly there will be a lot of people out a lot of money fast....Globill pt 2

time to switch back to checks it looks like ....

Twisted Dave 02-21-2007 10:29 PM

ePassporte isn't perfect, but for us it's the best system out there ... til we get our CC system up and running.

Fizzgig 02-22-2007 12:12 AM

There is no substitute.

JD 02-22-2007 12:18 AM

trust with a large amount of $? shit no. I'd trust a crack head with it before epass...

Screaming 02-22-2007 12:20 AM

as soon as funds hit my epass, i come here and swap them for paypal

i honestly feel safer with washed paypal funds then i ever would epass

amazing eh

k0nr4d 02-22-2007 01:58 AM

I was ok leaving $800 in there until i saw all the threads today, so I'll be pulling it out and stuffing it with the rest of the money under my mattress.

flashfire 02-22-2007 02:09 AM

I have never had a problem with epass...so yes right now

wdsguy 02-22-2007 02:11 AM

They've always been good to me.

themonk 02-22-2007 02:11 AM

epass rocks

RawAlex 02-22-2007 02:13 AM

Trust? Sure. However, in the last few months I have moved almost all of my payments back to checks.

fr0gman 02-22-2007 02:19 AM

I did trust epass until my designer got burned and that is simply no way that I can see it was his fault.

Epass has a leak and they need to fix it fast. Plus they respond to customer issues about as fast as Registerfly.

ghood 02-22-2007 02:23 AM

Epassporte isn't really perfect but a really very convinient solution for our needs ;)

SleazyDream 02-22-2007 02:25 AM

do I trust epassport - yes.

would I deposit money with them and use them for payment delivery of a paysite or collection as an affiliate - YES

would I bank my life savings with them - no - only an idiot would bank all their money in one place. :2 cents:

Klen 02-22-2007 02:53 AM

They are good but it is not good to keep all eags in one place.

All what threads? I saw the ones about Duke dollars and that they were down for a few hours.. But what else is there?

bobby666 02-22-2007 03:06 AM

there are no alternatives for me

HouseHead 02-22-2007 03:20 AM

Personally, havnt used them as of yet, im still stuck on Paypal.. Alot of buddies use them and i dont hear conplaints to often.. Havnt heard anything but good, and my sponser payouts via epass!

gecko 02-22-2007 03:28 AM

I am neutral about it

rotterdammer 02-22-2007 03:38 AM

Yeah I do trust them

u-Bob 02-22-2007 03:45 AM

trust them? yes.

studiocritic 02-22-2007 03:46 AM

i don't have any reason NOT to trust them, but i think they are pretty ignorant overall. and when it comes to people who are handling my money, i'd rather them be responsible, competent pricks. rather than friendly, helpful idiots.

u-Bob 02-22-2007 03:49 AM

Epassporte: stop doing business with online gambling programs and alot more people will trust you. Doing business with online gambling programs only attracts negative attention.

heh... again, QFT..!

HomerSimpson 02-22-2007 04:04 AM

I think that this is really bad for ePassporte, and that this panic is making people withdrawing all their epass funds. They representative should make a statement and make it clear what the fuck is going there...

Pimpin_J 02-22-2007 04:09 AM

Its always a little hazzle to get your sponsor payments out of epass. Sometimes it takes up to 5 days till i can completly cash them out from an ATM. Those daily limits suck ass!

take another look

theres like 10 threads on the front page

polish_aristocrat 02-22-2007 04:18 AM

omg not another epassporte threads

epassporte is used mostly by people to earn a few hundred here and there, pay a designer, pay for hosting, withdraw funds within seconds and avoid taxes

the risk that they may go down is included but not important to anyone who keeps there only a few hundred

yes, their support sucks (apart from keyser) but well, bitching on GFY probably wont change their company strategy to employ cheap outsourced idiots

if you are a sponsor program needing to load 5 or 6 figures into epassporte to pay your webmasters, then indeed it may be some risk for you though

but overall I dont understand people who say "epass is gonna steal from them"

they make so much on their commisions that they surely arent interested in stealing any money from anyone

Zester 02-22-2007 04:35 AM

edit: i'll be back regarding this

jayeff 02-22-2007 04:59 AM

Trust them, no. Use them, yes.

I'm sure they are not planning to steal anyone's money, but service-oriented businesses which don't take customer service seriously, tend not to be around for the long term. Their involvement with gambling transactions has to be very unhealthy in the present climate. Less important, but still a factor is that Chris's interest in the movie business would be neither here nor there in other circumstances. But right now EP doesn't need its boss to have other (likely more appealing) demands on his time and attention.

However since small checks and wires, if not impossible are often uneconomic, we need a service like EP. Until another one comes along which is as widely accepted, it is reasonable to take the risk that some money may be lost one day. But until there is more perception of stability I would swallow the cost/time and use other methods for large transactions. I certainly wouldn't keep any money in my EP account.

Not just based on the threads, but the hastle it took when I was trying to get signed up so I could pay people via epass versus PayPal on design work.

Trust? Not I.

VicD 02-22-2007 07:49 AM

I trust them because i've never had any problems with them...
They have problems but every nowaday company has problems...

Onixia 02-22-2007 07:59 AM

using epass about a year. The only problem was 3 weeks in w8ing for the new CC when ATM took mine cause of wrong pin code

ffmihai 02-22-2007 08:07 AM

yes i trust them. epassporte is best to be used to make payments and receive them IMHO

scottybuzz 02-22-2007 08:08 AM

what threads batts? the usual ones or are there more serious ones now?

Andiz 02-22-2007 08:10 AM

Yes I do trust them.

commonsense 02-22-2007 08:16 AM

do not base business decisions off of gfy threads. the people that do probably dont make sales so it doesnt matter

CyberHustler 02-22-2007 08:17 AM

I don't trust anybody! But I use epass for a lot of quick and easy payments for design work etc.

I like to get paid from my sponsors via epass, I think checks are annoying.

Rule of thumb: Never EVER leave a high amount of money sitting in any online banking system! Get the money in and out ASAP! Only leave what you can afford to mysteriously disappear :2 cents:... I leave an average of 30 bucks in epass and paypal, if somebody steals that shit they probably needed it more than I did.

I've never had a problem with epass but I hope they shape things up, I really appreciate their service.

Agent 488 02-22-2007 08:57 AM

this point is moot as no US banks will soon accept transfers to epass anyway a la duke dollars. :2 cents:

ps: will mayor's money still penalize check users? :error

dready 02-22-2007 09:07 AM

I don't trust them like I used to. They need to do some serious work on their security, and their dealings with gambling sites makes me nervous.
