MattO 02-21-2007 12:35 PM

I'll post pictures along the way... it's going to be a lot of work. I've pretty much been trying to figure out what's missing, and I just place a pretty large order with J&P Cycle that'll hopefully be most of what I'll need.

So far I've been able to assemble the flywheel, connecting rods & cam, and I'm having some problems fitting the lifters. I'm in no hurry though.

WZRogeR 02-21-2007 12:38 PM

I have to ask, how much did you pay for the basket? Did that include what's in the boxes?

I paid 800 bucks and that includes everything you see in the pictures.

I just ordered 600 dollars worth of stuff that should complete it from J & P, including a new chain, mainshaft 1st, petcock, shifter shaft, rear axle, cam bearings, voltage regulator, new pistons & valves and pipes. Some of that stuff didn't come with the basket, some I just want to replace.

I also ordered struts to replace the shocks and a solo springer seat, eventually I might put a weld-on rigid rear on it, but thought I'd try the struts 1st.

baddog 02-21-2007 02:48 PM

okay, not a bad price. Did not want to think that you had $3k (or more) invested in it.

Have fun.

No, had to pass, I wanted to go bad but my wife is due soon and I'm needed around the house.
