That New Movie: SIGNS
I saw the motion picture last weekend, and it was kinda lame.
I was expecting much much more. Being Russian and not having the best english I must have missed something. But it seemed silly, yes? I saw comericial on tv for this movie and it look good on comercial. They interview people from who just see movie, and people say how scarrry it is and how they hold their breath through the whole movie. why do this? |
For those who havent seen it, save your money and go see XXX with that Disel guy instead.

Yeah I saw the movie, sucked cock.
Read this review: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...TL&type=movies I love this: "The story tells us of something amazing going on outside, and then forces us to stay inside -- in a house with apparently few electric lights, since we can barely see the actors. It doesn't take long to realize that Shyamalan is building toward some epic showdown, in which the family sits huddled, while aliens try and try to crack through the boarded-up windows. Shyamalan is asking us to believe a lot. The aliens travel a billion light- years to get here and forget to bring a bomb, a pickax or even a ball-peen hammer. And they want to take over the universe. Are they kidding, or what?" Pretty much sums it up. If you haven't seen the movie just back out of this thread at this point. At the end of the movie the alien is holding up the kid. He then sprayed the kid with something. Was it supposed to be poison or was it something to help cure his Asthma? I hate the way the movie builds up to an invasion then they suddenly leave. All we have is the scene with the family in the cellar. |
Vin Diesel cant Act his way out of a paper bag.... He's a retard

I think you're missing the point.
I don't think it was about aliens travelling 6 billion miles and forgetting their raincoats or something. I think it was a movie about exceptional faith and situation suspense. In that it was really very good. Ghosts weren't much more believable in a former effort, however I think they're just a vessel for his messages which are often belief based. Take the Omen. The actual plot isn't overly likely, and if it is then you have other stuff to worry about than signs. The beauty of that movie was the horror, suspense and sheer presence of the movie. Signs was often similar. |

The Sixth Sense was one of the most overrated movies ever. What a letdown from all that hype.
|
I don't understand you guys??
"Sixth Sense" was only rated 65% (out of 100%) by mrshowbiz.com (when they used to be up) and they were awesome critics... anyways why do you waste your time and money to go see a movie without reading critics reviews first?? You would have seen how poorly they rated all these movies. Go see "Minority Report" or "Road to Perdition" if you want to see a good movie. and go rent "Gangster Number One" if you haven't seen that before... |
jojojo - Its stupid to watch, or not watch a movie based on reading critics reviews.
Often times they disagree and some say the movie sucks, while others love it. Anyway if you love reviews, visit: http://movies.yahoo.com/ They have the top 15 film critic reviews on every movie playing. Here are the reviews for SIGNS http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&id...3433&cf=critic |
Big disappointment
Ridiculous alien that looks like a guy in an alien suit. Even more ridiculous: they have flying saucers, but they don't have crowbars, matches, or any other way of getting into or destroying a boarded-up house. Even more ridiculous (SPOILER WARNING): They are destroyed by water but try to conquer a planet which is 4/5th's water and where it rains and snows. The supposed payoff is that God is looking out for us. Tell that to the 3,000 people who died in the World Trade Center. What a fucking crock of shit. |
I wasnt going to go see it anyways, looks pretty stupid in my opinion

Neither could Arnold, but that's what the entertainment media is making him out to be - the Arnold for a new generation. Personally, I think Vin has some pretty big shoes to fill if he's gonna be 'the next Arnold'. The guy has only a few halfway decent movies under his belt, but we'll see what happens. :2 cents: |
I was highly built up and expected something more. Very disappointed in the movie!:(

Frog:
Yes it is stupid, but smart people get a few opinions and then make a judgement based on that info and Yahoo is one of the sites I got to now for movie reviews because it has so many different sources contributing. When Mrshowbiz.com was alive before it's critiques were sooo accurate - I watched hundreds of movies and they were almost always bang on with their % out of 100% rating system. Then they changed it rating them out of 5 :p probably because the ratings were soo good that movies that got brutal ratings took a hit in the north american markets because so many people were using that site - and now it is completely gone and it redirects to some damn abnews entertainment portal :ppp |

I just know a few people who take the critic reviews too serious and sometimes skip movies based on what they say. Do you know the movie 'Alien' got shitty reviews by a few critics when it came out? That is one of my fav movies. Its best to use your own judgement. |
