Australia Phasing out Incandescent Globes to Save the Globe!

In an effort to reduce greenhouse emissions by approximately 800,000 tonnes by 2012 the Australian government has announced that incandescent light globes will be phased out over the next three years.

I didn't even know they were thinking about doing it there....oh good on them, if it actually helps I guess!:)

now the australian government just needs to remember to turn the lights off in their own parlimentary buildings when they leave for the night and we could reduce it by the same amount again!

I've been replacing all of mine. Have a few more to go. The ones I bought take up 1/4th of the energy, so the package says. Have no idea how much that will actually matter with all of my other electronics on all day, lol.

Compact fluorescent bulbs suck. Even the 3500 K Sylvania bulbs make my crib look like an office/prison.

Time to start hoarding the good shit.

I can't even find an incandescent light bulb here in Japan, everything is fluorescent
