Wordpress Comment Spammers...
I was gone for the weekend and came back to over a 1000 comment spams. Pain in the ass to delete because it would crash my window. Anyway, fuck you.... learn how to hide your affiliate number....
You guys are on notice! |
yeah comment spam is terrible. I've had to go into the actual sql database to remove them.
|
Why dont you use kismet which automaticly delete spam?
|
askimet gets rid of most of them... it is simple, free, and built into your wordpress software.

I am going to give this a try. Are there any others? |
Why does anyone even allow WP to use comments? I tell all my installs to turn off comments

preventing comments eliminates the possibilty of the very best linkback you can get

There are many options with SK and mostly the defaults are a good place to start. But make sure that when you get to the "Consider a post old after" option you enter no more than 15 days (10 is better). A great deal of automated spam is aimed at older posts, and this setting helps take care of that. |
akismet or spamkarma are both good options.
|
Heh, I just turned comments off completely. Problem solved. Web 2.0 is over rated anyway. I am the webmaster, not the visitors.
|
Ive been getting a lot of that comment spam too. Varies from penis enlargement to medical products.
