i bought a new car
 

ok, that's wrong - i leased it.

got a mercedies ml320 cdi - that's the deisel SUV, with pretty much all the bells and whistles

the ML 63 was a little too much out of my budget for a car. i could have swung it but it just didn't seem right and it was a 4 month wait for one anyway

so I had to choose between a ml500 and ml350. the 350 wasn't bad - but it was just too little power compared to the FX45 i had before. I would have been winning for 3 years about it. the ml500 was better but it STILL didn't go as fast as the fx45 so i figgured i'd be winning more if i paid more for it than a fx45 and went slower with the same gas milage. the ml320 deisel had more power than the 350 - less than the 500 but it's almost 40mpg so somehow that makes me feel better about sacfificing the mileage. love the interrior and exterior of the suv.

have to wait 5 weeks to get it though - they are giving me a loaner in the interm while i wait - find out on mon what i get.

cars arn't an investment - i've bought and leased many cars - usually pay abou the same either way if i want to drive new every 2-3 years.

i like leasing cause there are less hastles at the end of the lease. trading a car with car dealers is a FUCKING headache and something i prefer to avoid.

Why deisel?

over 1000kms per fill up - i HATE gas stations and wasting my time there and i don't even get 500kms per tank with my fx45

plus i like to be different - there are VERY few deisels in wpg and it gets the same milage as the lexus rx400 so i can sleep at night knowing i'm not making the enviroment worse if that means anything........

I checked these out before, they are nice. diesel is a great choice, they last forever... not to mention the lease tax write off :winkwink:

The ML should serve you well. I had an ML350 for a few years and with the exception of the brakes failing with less than 20k(MB does not warranty them) it was a reliable SUV.

I traded in my 2004 Mustang Mach 1 last July when I bought my new car. They tried to screw me so bad. I had researched everything and had blue book values on both cars (the car I was buying was used - a 2004 Cobra). When they came to me with their first offer I just said "Oh, I don't even think so" and went to leave. They followed me all the way out to my car.

I got the prices I want.
