Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake

I don't like this idea one little bit, the orginal was classic.

http://us.imdb.com/Title?0324216

At least Jessica Biel is in it, she's fuckable.

BOOO! BOO! leave TCM alone!

The sequels have done enough harm,
why would they do this to TCM?

Fucking Hollywood :321GFY

I'm sure they're doing it for the money.

I will refuse to go see it. Of course, not getting my $8 isn't going to matter, but at least I'll feel good about it.

Didn't I read a while back that someone was talking about doing a remake of Dawn of the Dead? That would suck just as bad, Dawn is one of my favorite movies.

Romero already is doing it.

Micheal Bay is exec producing...I hope he steps in front of a big fucking train...he is the movie antichrist...I fucking hate his fucking guts

I hate the bullshit interviews he gives about this remakes saying stuff like "this time, we'er not focusing on the gore" when TCM had no fucking gore to begin with...what made TCM effective was atmosphere...something Micheal Bay wouldn't know a fucking thing about...I hope his lungs collapse...

the only way I'll see the movie is if it is confirmed that Jessica Beal does full frontal nudity AND someone get a chainsaw runthrough AND some gets graphically hung on a fucking meathook....

my biggest nightmare about this movie is that Micheal bay might get the idea to use cgi chainsaws....

did I mention how much I loathe this fucking hack???

I feel faint now...I'm going to go grab my copy of Texas Chainsaw Massacre" that is signed by the one and only Gunnar Hanson and weep gently into a pillow...............

"Less gory and more thrilling remake" comment about the film makes me wonder if they hve even seen the orginal.

I'll never understand why they need to make remakes. Remaking Psycho was a joke, they make it virtually identical and only did it for the $. At least if you make a remake bring something new to the table.

What will they remake next, Planet of the Apes ? DOH!

I thought Dennis Hopper kicked ass in TCM 2.
I have to agree, Pt 3 looks like crap already.

um, actually there are 4 movies....

this new one is a remake of the original...

We had the classic 'Saw, TCM2 which I enjoyed, especially the face removal scene, TCM3 which was the victim of the MPAA and then we had the absolute abortion of a movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation with Matthew Machuangy(sp?) and Renee Zellweiger(sp?)....man that was a piece of shit...turning Leatherface into a fucking sissy....everyone associated with that movie should be forced to make Steel Magnolias 2: Judgment Day........fuckers

Ok this page is a bit sick....this is the character these people reckon the film is based on.

SykkBoy 08-05-2002 11:56 AM

Yup, Ed Gein, the Mad Butcher himself

carved a woman up and gutted and hung her up like a deer...
old Ed was also an amateur grave robber who used to wear the skin from female corpses and his mother's nighties and dance in the moonlight as aa sort of ritual to her...there is even a Slayer song called "Dead Skin Mask" that is about Ed Gein... "dance with the dead in my dreams/listen to their hallowed screams/the dead have taken my soul/temptation, lost all control..."

Ed Gein and some of his quirks were the basis for the characters Leatherface (the wearing of human skin as clothing and furniture made from human bones), Norman Bates (the mother complex), the Buffalo Bill chracter from "Silence Of The Lambs" (the skinning of women and wearing their skins) as well as numerous other movie psychos.....

----

EDIT - hehehe, I posted before I read that full page...I agree, the book "Deviant" is an excellent read and a chilling look into the life of Ed Gein....

Yup - your right man.
I should have said part 4 instead of part 3.
Part 3 was crappy though.. that one had no imagination.

Return of the Living Dead Part II (1988)
Evil Dead II (1987)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)
Cube (1997)
Resident Evil (2002)

Did I miss any others ? Those I think were probably some of the best horror flicks to date.

SykkBoy 08-05-2002 01:11 PM

I hated Return Of The Living Dead 2...it started the horrible trend of funny zombies...I rpefer my zombies slow moving and menacing, especially the Italian zombies...Bava and Fulci were the true zombie movie masters...

I did enjoy Return Of The Living Dead Part 3 though....Mindy Clarke was one hot zombie.....

I'd add to that list:
The Burning
Friday The 13th
The Exorcist
Susperia
Bird With The Crystal Plummage
Gates Of Hell/City Of The Dead
The Omen
I preferred Evil Dead over Evil Dead II
A Nightmare On Elm Street (before Freddy Kreuger became the gameshow host of death with bad one-liners)
Pumpkinhead
Sleepy Hollow
Kolobos
The Others
Stir Of Echoes (much better, IMHO, than The Sixth Sense)
Requiem For A Dream (not really a horror movie, but quite horrific and frightening and one of only 3 movies that ever brought a tear to my eye)

DarkBob 08-05-2002 01:38 PM

I would add:

The Beyond - Fulci's best film IMO
Hell of the Living Dead/Night of the Zombies
Phantasm

and as I said before Dawn of the Dead
