Did Cell Phones Kill The Wrist Watch?

Since all cell phones have a clock, do you still wear a wrist watch every day to keep time? Or do you just use your cell?

The same way I have not used a hotel room telephone in years because of cell phones, I have not worn a wrist watch in about 7 years.

Just wondering if I'm the only one who went "watch-free" when cell phones came on the scene.

What is your preference?

Fletch XXX 02-17-2007 07:11 AM

Never wore a watch, dont carry a cellphone.

Rui 02-17-2007 07:17 AM

Tuga 02-17-2007 07:33 AM

I like to use a watch, even if I can easily do without one.

notabook 02-17-2007 07:49 AM

Theo 02-17-2007 07:51 AM

wristwatch suck

darling2 02-17-2007 07:57 AM

I also went watch free when I got a cell phone.

Watches are out ! :)

LiveDose 02-17-2007 08:08 AM

Watches will be back as soon as they figure out how to make a cellphone the size of a watch.

tolik 02-17-2007 08:10 AM

depends from social groups only.

Trax 02-17-2007 08:11 AM

watch is still a fashion item
the cell for sure wont kill the watch industry ;)

polish_aristocrat 02-17-2007 08:13 AM

I stopped wearing a wrist watch about 2 years ago after I finished my studies.

Till then I couldn't even leave home without my watch, and if it happened every few months then i felt like I am missing something all day...

Now I don't wear my wrist watch anymore, and cell phones, hm, I guess I take my cell phone only ocassionally with me.

I guess Im totally free now, but free != happy.

Bruce_Miller 02-17-2007 08:13 AM

Haven't worn a watch in years.

martinsc 02-17-2007 08:17 AM

yup, only my cell....

SNL 02-17-2007 08:34 AM

Same here, I have wristwatches but I prefer my cell.. :\

The Heron 02-17-2007 09:03 AM

I haven't worn a watch in years but that is because I am the boss and people wait for me so I don't need to know what time it is!

Ross 02-17-2007 09:06 AM

I have four watches right now... plan on picking up more in the summer. For me it certainly hasn't killed it off, I probably use mine more as a fashion accessory tho - thats why I have so many... to go with what I wear that night....or day of course!

gangbangjoe 02-17-2007 09:11 AM

a watch is a fashion item for me.

kristin 02-17-2007 09:12 AM

I wear my watch everyday. Everyday.

shekinah 02-17-2007 11:03 AM

I still wear wrist watch even if I have a cell phone:)

SexualDragon 02-17-2007 11:14 AM

What happend to the watch that was a cell phone?

I remember seeing a commercial for them years ago.

SilentKnight 02-17-2007 11:21 AM

Still wear a watch everyday since I don't always carry the cell.

I tend to think of it as a fashion accessory.

Mr Pheer 02-17-2007 01:30 PM

I feel naked without my watch.

I only carry a cellphone if I'm travelling, which isnt often.

BobG 02-17-2007 01:33 PM

they definitely put the calculator watch business out a bit.

themonk 02-17-2007 01:55 PM

I dont wear watch for years now, just like you. If there is the cellphone, why would we need one?...

Very clever and very true...

abyss_al 02-17-2007 02:45 PM

i don't leave home without a watch on my wrist :pimp

ayne468 02-17-2007 02:49 PM

Yep they definately have...I was just thinking that the other day! But I think it is a good thing...because I always used to put my watches in the washing machine and dryer, but I have never done that to my phone(touch wood)!:)

Barefootsies 02-17-2007 03:55 PM

I still wear a watch.

I prefer it over the cell. I almost never look at my vehicle, or cell phone for the time. Call it habit. Call it sophistication.. like Bond...

:Oh crap

Babaganoosh 02-17-2007 04:33 PM

My Movado goes with me more often than my Nokia.

nico-t 02-17-2007 04:38 PM

i always have my cell + watch with me every where i go... the watch is a habit and i like nice watches, plus a glance at my watch is always quicker than getting the cell out my pocket to see the time

marcjacob 02-17-2007 04:46 PM

I still wear a watch, my wrist would feel naked without one. I dont wear it arround the house though and actually i tend to look at my cell phone clock more than my watch. I have OCD though so that could account for why i need the watch, feels horrible not wearing one out of the house. Im mental i guess lol.

goldmine 02-17-2007 04:56 PM

Yes i think so. I used to wear a wristwatch, but ever since i had a celphone i never wear my wristwatch at all... 8 years and counting :)

12clicks 02-17-2007 09:25 PM

a properly dress man wears a watch.
period.

MsWild 02-17-2007 09:38 PM

I'm wearing my wrist watch everyday :)

niche25 02-17-2007 09:42 PM

I only wear a wristwatch when I want to look nice. Panerai watches are sick, nothing with diamonds unless it’s tasteful.
