Do any site owners know why some members login in 10x a day every day?
 

WTF? How can these people view so much porn? Are they giving out their passwords to 1337 haxorz who change their IPs to mirror theirs?

they could be giving it out, but you should have security software for that.
some people just like to look at it often though.

My security software shows the same IP addy. However, I just can't fathom how someone can login to a site 6-10x a day for 4 months straight - sure I have feeds, but c'mon..

Some people are that addicted.

Hell I log in 2-3 times,if not more, easily per day to most of the sites I go to.

They must have some hairy palms.

If it's addiction, then cool. I was thinking something fishy was going on with people being able to change their IP addy and logging on as him.

find the login ip's and google them or just go to one in a browser, if its always a website , thats it

Some members actually do log in a lot. It depends on the content you have. If you have a blog that they follow or have live feeds then multiple logins are not uncommon.

that is really simple to do - Tools - Internet Options - Put in a proxy

that will change your ip, and I'm guessing most people now how to do that

There are a number that do it. It's not all that uncommon.

Some are those people who paid for their one month, and before they run the chargeback up your ass. They are making sure to grab everything on your site first.

Then you have some that watch one clip in the morning for their 1st hairy palm session, then those who come back again throughout the day from work, and then video again once they get home for hairy palm.. etc. etc..

Yep there was one IP: 205.188.116 that the same 5 members all had rotating in and out. Then, there is another IP: 064.012.116 that these same people had access their accounts at one point. So, I just changed 6 members passwords and shot them a friendly email letting them know their password is changed. I'll know what to look for in the future.

I'm using Strongbox. Great product with great service! In fact, I just called the owner on his cell phone at 9PM at night, he answered and helped me out with my issue (unrelated to this thread). :thumbsup

If everything seems above board then why you stressin' about it? That probably means he likes your shit and will rebill for a while. Means more bucks in the bank for you... I'd be encouraging my members to log in 20 times a day if they stay for 4 months!!

He could have given his username and password to a group who shares passwords. Also, the IP he logs in with is not the same as the one he signed up under. As someone mentioned before, there are ways for others to change their IPs. So, 9 guys all change their IPs to the same IP, log in whenever, drain my bandwidth, use the feeds (both cost $$) and I'm only getting about half of $29.49 a month while an affiliate gets the rest. Es no bueno for me.

It could be better to give the person a wake up call by changeig his password and send a friendly email. If it happens again, then I'll start cancelling.

it sounds as though you don't understand the fact that some people are somewhat engaged in whatever their life around them demands of them. One thing to take away from this for you to understand is that sex is of the mind, so anything which distracts the mind from reaching its destination will only be revisited until the mind is satisfied. Dont be freaked out by this.

I'm very understanding of people wanting their porn. It's when they let their friends use their accounts using fake IPs that bother me, which I've found to be the case with at least 6 members yesterday.

Because people occasionally share passwords and use a proxy so that they appear to
have the same IP, Strongbox will reduce the number of log ins allowed per day if they are
coming through an open proxy. Experience suggests that this isn't currently as big of a problem
as it once looked like it would become, though, because despite the instructions given by the person
who provides the password, tt always seems to get out to a bunch of people who don't follow the
instructions to use the proxy. As soon as the password gets out "in the wild" there are many IPs using it.
If this is a problem for your site, though, and you use Strongbox, you can reduce the two settings $totallogins
and $totallogins_2d somewhat.
