my sig... just $0.15/GB and they are reliable, im move 80GB/day with them.
|
Check out www.blackseven.com -- I host with them and haven't had any problems. Great prices, great support.

The 10mbps connection on Rackshack sounds very cool. How reliable is the backplane?
I just signed up for the 150gig $75 deal at Phatservers which is quite reliable. I would like to get that cost down. |
Well, if you buy more than 150 gigs, I believe the price does go down. (On Phatservers that is)..

The Rackshack is unlimited for 1/3 the price. Wondering if there are any caveats wiith it. |

I have a couple that I have used and would recommend. Rather than take the time to type them all out, just go here:
http://www.pornmasterz.com/hosts/index.html If you can't afford to pay for a host, why not use some of the free hosts offered by the different AVS out there. Some sponsors are even offering free bannerless hosting too as long as you promote their sites. Anyway, it is all covered in the above link. Enjoy, Flow :2 cents: |

If you know nothing about tweaking these. Ours is on a 100 mbps port, On our tuned boxes wich can do 20 mbps easily. And we manage the boxes. BIg difference. |

I am searching for low low cost gallery / tgp hosting scenarios. I would think the chances of me using the 10mbps in full continuously is pretty slim, except for maybe a day or two here or there. At full speed if it even allowed 9KB per second it still represents practically unlimited (by my standards anyways) traffic at a known fixed cost. The traffic is not exactly "Mission critical" so if it breaks at that price I wouldn't cry. If anyone can do this sort of thing in the $450 USD range let me know. |

Shoplifter I was just answering your question..you wanted to know the diference between the 2..and it is about 5000 gigs of transfer and hours of admin time wich you need to do on the rackshack box. I can offer you that $450 deal if we are not managing it (rackshack style..we will only reboot for you and charge hourly rate if we need to fix anything you break) and your on a cheapo box with 512 ram and stock linux install :thumbsup |
wow man you gallery guys are burning massive amounts of bandwidth

In contrast to some of the equipment we have owned since 94 that is on a 1.54 mb T1, a Cogent 10 mbps 512kb Dell linux box is a freekin major step up. All we need to do is untar our current installation onto a new box and away we go...so I guess that is why the Rackshack stuff caught my eye. All we need is a remote reboot ability. If you guys have anything that is even ballpark close we will take it, our experiences have been great with you so far. I'll drop you an email. |
peace
