Merchant Claims ePassporte Held Over $250K Funds Hostage
Merchants and online gamblers alike beware.

Following our story on serious security concerns related to ePassPorte, a third party payment processor, we received feedback from merchants who expressed dismay with one of the few companies still dealing with online gambling firms.

"They confiscated $250,000 from us for no apparent reason, claiming fraud," said one former online casino operator, who wished to remain anonymous. His was one of the first and most respected online casinos established in the 1990's.

Some have objected to our exposes regarding one of the slimiest elements in online gambling, the payment processing sector, which unfortunately will tend to get more slimy now that the US Justice Department has essentially chased out any remnant of "legitimacy" (not that there was much to begin with: see our NETeller stories).

"The stories about Neteller and ePassporte security are not good for the industry," said one reader. "Security breaches do occur and 99.9% of the time it is due to bad security on the part of the user, not the ewallet provider. Your sensationalized stories are hanging them out to dry at a time when the industry really needs them to be successful."

The industry does not need a black eye either and Gambling911.com has never won any "popularity contests" among industry operators either, most of whom cannot stand us.
