Anyone have a problem cashing Nasty Dollars checks?
My bank just put a hold on two checks I deposited from Nasty Dollars. Only about $1700 combined. Reason was Insufficient Funds.
I have never had a problem before so I am assuming this is a bank error on my banks part. Just seeing if anyone else is having the problem before I call my bank back and give them hell. |
usually they will take the checks and try to run it then tell you if it came back NSF
if its an out of state check then they can put a hold on a check a few days or weeks for them to put the money in your bank |
I had that problem with a ND cheque once last year, they re-issued it and the next cheque worked fine. I ended up getting stuck with the $10 charge for their cheque bouncing, but thats no biggie. Haven't had any other problems.
You sure they're not just holding the cheque because your account has insufficient funds to cover it incase the cheques didn't go through? Normally cheques take a little while to get processed and they wouldn't know instantly. If the cheque didn't work then I don't think they'd put a hold on it, they'd just take the money back from your account. |
Before this I had twice the money to cover them.... But then I transfered it into another account to buy a big ticket item. Perhaps that is what caused them to put a hold on the funds... The fact that the money that would have covered it is now not there... Might fit in with your explanation, stev0.

I believe stevO is correct in his explanation of what is more likely the case. Either way, rest assured knowing that you will always get paid no matter what. If anything, it is probably a banking error.
